We bought this to store bird food in. We used to store it in plastic 5 gallon buckets with lids, but the squirrels and chipmunks would chew through them and get to the seed.This is very sturdy, and the handle locks the lid down tightly. So far, has been rodent proof and waterproof.I would buy again should the need arise.Oh yeah…. Ours had a handle on the lid so if you didn’t you got ripped. I put silicone on the tabs that attach the handle to the lid to make sure moisture could not get in as we store this outside in the elements.

I originally bought this bucket and lid to place underneath our kitchen sink to use as a compost bucket. But, it was too big to fit so I've found another use for it. I'm using it as a Faraday Cage for some small electronics I don't want ruined if we get clobbered with an EMP. It's a very sturdy, well made bucket with a tight fitting lid.

We purchased this metal bucket for collecting the dog poop in our backyard. It's sturdy and well built. The opening is wide - which is great when trying to dump the dog doo doo inside it. The lid locks down well to keep the flies out. The only downside is that the lid no longer comes with a metal handle in the middle. I contacted the company because I thought we received a faulty lid - I was informed by the company that the lids no longer come with a handle. This makes removing the lid more difficult and I probably wouldn't have purchased it had I known this. We are going to add our own handle - but wish the photos had been updated and were accurate BEFORE we bought the bucket. Overall it's a good quality bucket, but the photos are outdated. I'm including a photo of the lid we received.

I am using this to store my bird seed in my shed. I was having an issue with varmits that dug a way into my shed, eating bird seed and grass seed. It took me a minute to figure out how to lock the lid (pull up the handle). Very substantial bucket and it has worked well for me.

As someone previously noted, there is no handle on the lid which I would prefer but only if it is sturdy. The bail works well for securing the lid. I have it for storing squirrel & bird seed & can fit a bag of peanuts & a bag of birdseed. My last bucket leaked so this is a welcome replacement.

Love the lid and how it locks into place with the handle. Great size that you're still able to manage the weight in order to carry it as well as very sturdy And lastly, thank goodness the label sticker is so easy to completely remove!

Size and sturdiness is great however I bought this because a friend did and while some photos show no handle, there was a photo that showed a handle and in the reviews it was mixed. I bought it because my friend just did and we live in the same area so it should be consistent right- wrong. It was shoved in a box that barely fit with no padding. The lid is dented and there is no handle. If you don’t want a handle this is a fine bucket. I wanted to use it for dog poop so a handle allows you to lift and drop 1 handed but without the handle you’ll need to flip it onto the ground then pick it up which is cumbersome especially if you live with snow and wear snow gear. I’m going to try to attach my own handle but I’m disappointed the description isn’t consistent. Also one photo shows a red handle comfort grip- it doesn’t have that either.

I am very pleased with the quality of the can.It is heavy gauge, has a tightly fitting lid and a handle that also helps to lock the lid in place.

Note the one I received didn't have a handle on the lid. Just know that. It was not as the picture and it might be an issue for some people.
