Sound Quality

The SU9920 provides increased clarity and punchy bottom end to your sound system. It improves the natural brightness through harmonic enhancement and adds density to the low frequencies through phase compensation. Dedicated Low Contour and Process controls for each channel enable fast and easy setup. Once you experience what the SU9920 can do, it will become your go-to sound enhancement tool.

Vibrant Live Sound

The SU9920 is ideally suited for use in all live sound applications, providing noticeable improvement to signal quality and bringing out the very best in your sound system, whether you're mixing a duo in a coffee house, or dialing a massive outdoor concert.

Sweet in the Studio

In a studio environment, the SONIC ULTRAMIZER is ideal for enhancing the sound of your mastering recordings. The SU9920 can give your music the professional polish of high-quality productions in just a few simple steps. Even if you primarily work with a digital audio workstation, you can perform final mastering with the SU9920 and an external recorder.

Versatility

In addition to being great for use with stereo signals, the SONIC ULTRAMIZER is also ideal for use with individual signals, such as guitar, keyboards or bass. Just connect the SU9920 into the signal path, or use your amp's effects loop, for sound with more presence, fullness and punch. Since the SU9920 can be run in stereo or dual mono, you can even use one side for the bass, the other for a keyboard or guitar.

Getting Connected

All inputs and outputs accept balanced XLR as well as balanced and unbalanced 1/4" connections. Both the 1/4" and XLR outputs can be used in parallel, when two outputs are required.

The Technical Stuff

The SU9920 boasts stellar frequency response from 25 Hz to 50 kHz. The Process control provides a boost of up to +12 dBu at 5 kHz. The Low Contour filter is capable of +12 dBu at 50 Hz.

I have only used this unit for "Bass Processing" and it works flawlessly. Makes my subs sound amazing without using a GEQ. Keep delivering Behringer!

Does the same thing as a BBE Sonic Maximizer but for a ridiculously low price. This box can make a drab recording sound better. I use this in my recording studio on guitars and synthesizer tracks to bring out the beef without a lot of extra EQ added in.Back in 1986 I sold pallets of BBE sonic maximizers in my music store, I'm very familiar with the effect. This Behringer version is just as good for half the price, truly a bargain.Good music to all!

Behringer produces some pretty good gear at affordable prices. I use several pieces of rack equipment made by Behringer and for the money, I am pretty satisfied with their equipment. The Sonic Ultramizer is a simple yet effective piece of gear. I recently chained an ultramizer to my rack and the difference in sound (guitar) is quite noticeable. I placed it near the end of the chain and it works well with overall signal enhancement. The only controls are high and low contour but this device really works well for putting the final touches into the mix. I run my gear as follows: Kustom 100 watt quad head through a Genz Benz 4x12 cabinet. I loop into the rack which consists of: 1.Genini power conditioner; 2.Behringer Vamp Pro preamp/modeler; 3.Behringer Virtualizer effects processor; 3.Behringer Multicom Pro compressor; 4.Behringer 15 band eq; 5.Behringer Sonic Ultramizer; 6.Behringer Multigate Pro noise gate/expander. The sound is excellent. The Kustom head is a cheaper solid state and is a bit muddy sounding but the eq and ultramizer fix that. I think Behringer discontinued this product but you may still be able to find it from a few dealers at a great price. I paid about 80 bucks for mine. The ultramizer works well in a guitar signal chain and is worth the price. I recommend placing it towards the end of the chain.

Have been using mine for about a month or so and have had no problems. Purchased mine for use in my podcast. I run from the main outs of Mackie ProFX12 to the inputs on the Ultramizer, then out to reference monitors and a Zoom H4n. I was surprised at how much of a difference this little unit makes. Could hear it immediately. Adds a very slick, broadcast quality to the sound. It also adds a clarity that I could not get with EQ alone. I have not noticed any added noise, hum or unwanted sound. For the price you just can't go wrong. I would recommend the SU9920 to anyone shopping in the price range.
