The FR Skull Cap is made from super soft inherently FR blend. It's breathable and offers excellent warmth and has a whopping 36 cal rating. The Skull Cap can be worn under a hard hat or welding mask in the field or while skiing! The Skull Cap is indistinguishable from a premium store bought knit cap. It's made in the USA from a double layer circular knit. The seamless tube gives it comfort, stretch, and recovery. It will not "Shrinkwrap" your head like others on the market. Better than other FR brands and it don’t shrink when washed. Also, it has a little more depth in the hat so you can pull it down over your ears enough to keep the cold out! Not extremely thick material so you can wear it under a hard hat and it don’t mess with the comfort of the hard hat on your head.

I love it. I look like a rock star. But seriously, it’s very comfortable, not too tight. Not very thick to wear under a hat hard. Provide just enough warmth in a California winter. Also some, but sufficient, protection against wind. Planning to buy another.The only dislike I can think of is that the beanie only comes in several shades of black. Other colors, soon???

Pretty decent beanie for anyone working outside and welding/torching. Haven't felt any slag burn through yet!

I've been wearing this every chance I get while welding, and even when I'm not welding. I have had to wash this thing several times due to the dirty conditions that I have been welding in lately and it still looks like new. This is not thick and bulky but still keeps my head warm even into the 20's with a wind. Once the temps get into the upper 50's, I've got to change over to a regular welding cap.
