This mat looks cool because of all the little areas to organize beads, but the material makes it difficult to pick up the beads with your needle. It's felt. So the needle gets stuck. Weird. Good concept....bad execution.

I honestly don't know how anyone can successfully use this thing. I bought this to replace a cruddy felt pad used for beading, because those shred very easily, and are not durable. So, opting to try this, I beaded 2 necklaces so far. I hate it because the fabric is like a closed loop pile and my needle gets stuck in it every time I try to load the beads on my needle by trying to scoop them onto it. The tip of the needle gets stuck under the fibers, therefore my needle flings the beads like a trebuchet catapult. I now have beads all over my floor. I can't use this at all. It's a waste of my time. Great in concept, but impractical material.

Love it. I can have several going at one time. Pretty stiff so easy to move around, nicely labeled, smooth surface. If you're used to a velux plush surface you will find this a little bouncy. I sometimes put a little piece of a contrasting color in the center to work off of.

I really love these bead mats! They make working with beads/jewelry findings so much easier!So great that they sent 2 in a pack; I will never bead without them again. No more rolling beads, lol. Great price too!
