Looked nice in the product photos. Unfortunately, the wood material is pine. The wood was not sanded smooth in all areas. Returned the item because the mounting holes were not drilled properly. (see pic)

I have no complaints about this quilt rack. I saw 2 bad reviews on this quilt rack but I have found the opposite to be true. I have a very heavy large quilt on it for display and it holds it beautifully. The wood looks great. I am not sure of the wood type but it sure looks like a mission oak piece of furniture. I am very pleased with how this quilt rack looks and also how sturdy it is. Thanks so much

Right now the pieces are stacked against a book case. I'll have to get my super or call a handyman to help me put this mess together, but I can already tell you it's a very cheaply made product. I am usually pretty good at assembling furniture, but this rack is different. While trying to get the peg lined up for a hole it brushed up against the frame and already scratched it. It's pine underneath, so don't be expecting quality.One of the problems is the holes for screws are large and I never could get the screw deep enough to meet resistance. For the price, I was expecting a better product. but who knows, once I pay someone to help me assemble it, have it be a sturdy piece, and put a quilt on it, I might change my mind, but right now, not so much.
