I have always had Bernina's when I was working. Bernette is not quite the quality of Bernina's. But most of us can't afford the price difference. The air threading is such a blessing for us with "mature" eyes. I got this at a super introductory price, I couldn't resist. It is well built, heavy. It is somewhat noisy as to my last Bernina Serger/coverstich, so I had a wool pressing matt I wasn't using and placed it underneath. Much better. Threading and changing stitching styles is easy with lots of YouTube training available.

I love it….but couldn’t get Bernia warranty because seller wasn’t a dealer. Broke my heart to return but expensive enough not to take a risk. Also bought the 3 year warranty but that only paid what the Bernia warranty didn’t pay. SO…..NO WARRANTY

I've had one other overlock machine and gave up on it as too difficult to be useful. So, I consider myself a newby to overlock and coverstitch machines. A 5 thread combo machine is intimidating at first sight, but it is so easy there is almot no learning curve. I did watch the Bernette videos. The air thread lopers are amazing. And I love the knee lever control for the pressure foot.

When I spend almost $1300 for a “new†item, I would expect that the item has original packaging and has not yet been unboxed. The tape had been removed from bottom of machine box so when we lifted out of Amazon box the machine started slipping out...luckily there were 2 of us and I noticed. The tape on top of box had also been cut. Will update review once I’ve assembled machine and checked that all parts are present. Right now I’m skeptical at best.

Air threading didn’t work on upper looper. Lower looper threading worked fine.Disappointed I had to return this machine and was not able to get a replacement.It’s a nice sturdy machine, love the lighting, extension table, free arm, and right side presser foot lever. I’ll keep shopping.
