I've had these installed on my chicken coop windows for about 6 months now, and they have worked flawlessly...in both hot and cold weather. The lift on them is perfect.

Well made, easy to install. I purchased for an old record player cabinet that I upcycled and now use as vanity storage. I open and close the top daily so the original hinge wore in and wouldn’t stay open without me holding it. This works great but the top of my cabinet is too light and it stays open. So just beware it may not work with your furniture, etc. I’m gonna head to Home Depot to see if I can jus find a latch to add.UPDATE: I purchased a latch from Home Depot and put it inside to hold it closed and now it’s perfect!

One is sufficient to hold a small cabinet door up/open but use two to keep things aligned.

They don't work as good as they look. My tool box is aluminum diamond plate, with same on the lid. Which should be lighter then a steel tool box lid and these are NOT strong enough to open the lid; it requires assistance. Would not recommend to anyone with any kind of metal tool box lid. It may work on plastic or wood; metal to heavy.
