I rated this potting bench five stars first of all for the overall experience of ordering, receiving, assembly, value, and usefulness of the product. The vendor apprised me of my order status, I received it earlier than projected, and received the disassembled bench in perfect condition, as it was packed very well. From past experiences with so many different manufacturers, I almost come to expect something to be missing from a box of parts, but not so with this potting bench. Every piece was there, to include the hardware; it was all well marked, or otherwise easily identifiable as not to be mixed up with similar pieces. The instructions are in picture format, but just as well, as they are easy to follow, and I can see where words may actually confuse the situation in some cases. I did keep a picture of a completely assembled bench close by so as to look at it from time to time so as not to get my lefts confused with my rights, and you may want to do the same to keep you on track with correct assembly, but I did not find this to be distracting to the overall experience. Every piece was quality wood, with no defects of any sort in any piece, which also pleasantly surprised me, as this seems to not be the norm nowadays. What I did, and I advise everyone to do the same, is immediately upon taking the pieces out of the box, I spread them out and coated them with a weatherproofing (I used Thompson’s). Doing so when still unassembled is so much easier and you are sure to get all the nooks and crannies. You may want to buy this prior to the bench arriving so you can get immediately to work on it when it arrives. Minus the time it took to apply weatherproofing, it is relatively a quick procedure of about 45 minutes, and when done, it is extremely sturdy, but light enough to move around easily; I’m putting mine in the garage during the harsh, windy winter here in Colorado, and I did it by myself, didn’t need two people to move it. Now, another great thing about this potting bench is the fact that by naming it “potting benchâ€, it may seem that this is its only use, but not so, and I think this same bench could be listed in multiple categories with only a slight name change applied. This is an absolute PERFECT bench to have close by your grill when cooking outdoors as it has everything the grill cook is looking for when BBQ’ing. Not too big, not too small, it has the table area for your items to grill, or already been grilled, hooks, drawer, smaller top shelf, and I am seriously thinking about getting another one of these benches for that purpose only. So far I’ve used it for both potting and grilling at different times as both tasks are done in the same general area. This bench could easily be sold in a grilling accessories section and not be out of place.I also cannot believe the affordable price of this bench, and with its low cost, sturdiness, ease of assembly and multi-uses, it is one of the best values I’ve scored in my life. I most heartily recommend this bench to anyone looking for a potting-grilling buddy.

First of all, I love it. It’s absolutely worth the money. It’s large, it’s sturdy, and it’s much more convenient than building one myself. It does everything I need it to do.However, a few things to take note of.1. Wear gloves while assembling because this thing is perfectly designed to fill your hands with dozens of splinters.2. This is essentially just raw, pre cut wood with a few poorly done pre drilled holes. You NEED a power drill to assemble this, or it’ll take you several hours and one hell of a headache.3. The directions are oddly vague. Pay CLOSE attention and constantly refer back to previous images- pay attention to the location of the pre drilled holes because for whatever reason they are unmarked in the directions, making this a bit confusing.4. It’s not really square? When you kind of jam everything together it works out but make sure you’re lining things up carefully so they are at least kind of level or it becomes a real pain5. you’re looking for a family heirloom this ain’t it. If you’re looking for something cheap to last a few years it’s perfect. The wood doesn’t appear to be sealed with anything and is very soft wood- I’d be concerned about moisture / rotting very quickly. I will be sealing this with a coat of polyurethane to try and prevent that and I’d suggest you do the same.I am absolutely happy with the purchase to be clear and assembly only took 30 minutes but I am covered in splinters and my eyes hurt from squinting at the directions. May the odds be in your favor.

I bought this potting bench to add a counter height space to repot my plants, and it fits nicely on my small screened front porch. It arrived on time, well packaged, and with all the parts. It was simple to follow the directions to assemble, and took less than an hour from box to porch. The wood looks nice as is, but you could paint it if you prefer. My only issue is the drawer, which fills with dirt and water that spills through the open slats of the work surface. I took the advice of another reviewer and purchased a thin, flat cutting mat to cover the space over the drawer. The mat works well and it's easy to move outside to pour off any water or brush off dirt. We had a huge rain storm recently and the front porch was drenched by wind-driven rain, and the mat kept the water out of the drawer.Definitely recommend, this is a well built potting bench for the price.

5 points for the price and for meeting our needs. My husband put it together and didn't complain too much. We needed to sand the drawer front to get it to fit. After giving the bench a quick sand and a couple coats of clear coat, we think it looks pretty good. It's going to live in our little greenhouse (also bought on Amazon), so it won't be subject to the PNW rain and snow. The wood is pretty light weight, we'll be careful not to put too much weight on it. The little top shelf is too narrow. I was hoping to put 4" pots on it, but the saucers won't fit. Altogether, I was suprised how much we were able to get on the bench top and lower shelf. I can't imagine keeping it outside in the elements, but I believe that it will hold up fine for our greenhouse needs. If we decide to put anything heavier on the bottom shelf we may need to put supports (bricks) under the bottom and we will need to eventually figure out a way to keep debris out of the drawer. purchased February 2023
