I haven't run it up to the rated 2000W yet, mostly because I don't have enough battery behind it to supply what it needs to get there. But it's worked fine at 1100W, so it will run a crock pot, coffeemaker or tiny grill (panini maker). It will run any reasonable amount of lighting, and some power tools. It's important to take the instructions seriously. It comes with 2 sets of cables, and both MUST be used. Internally there are two inverters in there, working in parallel, and they both need to be powered. For light loads you can hook both sets of cables to the same battery. For heavy loads you should generally connect each set to its own battery. Useful math: if you want to run a 1200w 120v appliance on this with a 12v battery, you're asking that battery to provide over 100A. That's harder than you want to push a lithium battery. so use 2 batteries. Or a single beefy lead acid battery, but those wear out faster. And lesson learned. If the connection to the battery isn't tight, and I mean screwing down the connections with a tool, the battery terminals will heat up from even the trivial resistance the loose connection causes. It gets hot enough to cause a burn. The clamps this unit comes with are probably ok for a lead acid battery with fat binding posts, but lithium battery often come with smaller screw terminals. Make sure the screw terminal firmly engages the bottom and side of the clamp and screw it down as tight as your hand can manage. Or else! This unit really should come with alternate connectors for those screw terminals...

After owning this 2000 watt inverter for one year, I finally learned how to connect the alligator clamps correctly and the unit is amazing! It's extremely quiet, ran my hair dryer and is a huge added bonus when the power runs out since I have extra car batteries.A car battery is about 6000 watts and a 200 watt room (two lamps, a stereo, a 32 inch TV, a DVD player, a game systems will run about 200 watts an hour giving you 30 hours of power.)I purchased this unit for $129, still a deal at $156.Recommend to place Bestek 2000 watt inverter in an area away from children.Keep the unit off while connecting the alligator clamps. Red clamps (postive) first then black (negative). You really have to squeeze the clamps very hard sliding the rubber down slightly towards the wires; no need to cut the rubber covers. Using gloves helps when squeezing the clamps. Excellent product and will buy again. Thanks for reading.

Good, capable inverter that can power my 1,600-watt espresso machine and 1,500-watt immersion water heater for my upcoming camping trip without complaints. However, because the device is a combination of two 1,000-watt inverters, it requires 2 sets of cables. The cables are included, but are only 24 inches long, so the inverter must sit somewhere on the engine bay with the hood open. In addition, trying to secure 4 sets of clamps on your battery and car frame can be a pain. I hope Bestek makes a few modifications in the future, for for the time being, you can perform these mods yourself inexpensively.1. Get a 2-foot piece of 2-gauge copper wire from your local hardware store.2. Cut to size and jump the 2 negative terminals together, and the 2 positive terminals together.3. Get a set of 2-gauge, 10 foot long jumper cables, and cut off the positive and negative clamps off one end.4. Solder copper eyelet connectors in place of the cut off clamps.5. Now you only have 1 set of cables to attach the inverter to your car battery, with enough cable length to close the car hood and set the inverter on a picnic table.

We live in Florida and are subject to the occasional hurricane or tropical depression (one is on the way as I write this). I did a lot of research concerning the load this inverter would handle, i.e., side by side 25 cft. 11.6 amp fridge, box fan, small appliances, etc. I also took into consideration some of the 1 star reviews and decided the higher reviews out weighted the lower ones and decided to take a chance. I received the inverter, unboxed it, and followed the hook up instructions which are extremely minimal. Therefore, I encourage watching some YouTube videos. I then connected it to my car battery making sure the inverter was OFF, started my car (6 cyl Toyota Camry), switched it ON, green light indicator came on, connected a long extension cord to the inverter, then to my refrigerator and the interior light came ON. I left the door on the fridge open until the compressor kicked in. When it did, the light flickered for a moment, then the inverter adjusted to the load and then light came back on and the compressor kicked in. I let it run for a while and it maintained the load.I am impressed that this modified sine wave inverter actually did the job. Other reviews said it wouldn't run a refrigerator unless it was a pure sine wave...not true. This inverter is really two 1000w units in one housing (2000w). That's why you have two red and two black battery clamps. Connect one clamp to battery terminal, then clamp the second to the connected clamp...works great.

I have now used this product for multiple years. I just used it to power my fridge, tv, pc, and internet after hurricane Milton for a week straight (I would it shut off my car for nights for around 6-7 hours - which my fridge would allow for healthy temps on my current low setting). The high peak voltage amount allows you to plug in your modern fridge/freezer without any issues. I have been incredibly impressed with this product for the price. I highly recommend.

I was going to review this inverter earlier, but I wanted to put it through its paces first. This thing is awesome. Best bang for the buck. I am going to use it in my travel trailer, hooked up to a deep cycle battery charged by 2 100 watt solar panels. With this, I won't have to run the generator as much and save gas.The inverter even came with spare fuses, an added bonus. I have an old 600 watt inverter I purchased from CT, but that one just doesn't have the power to run small appliances like a microwave oven.Very happy with my purchase.

Really strong inverter, which has a excellent digital display which informed you of how much power you’re electric item is drawing. This is helpful to know just for a reference point, but also let you know how many other things you can plug in before you cause it to overload. I haven’t overloaded it yet, but there is a number of fuses that are easy to replace, and they give you a bunch of spares. Has a very commercial appearance and is light weight enough to be very portable. We are using this for our barbeque team, as our pellet smoker needs to runoff of 12 V battery when we don’t have shore power. Would highly recommend.

Good value, and amazing performance. I tested this with a hair dryer, and a full size bristle vacuum cleaner (not at the same time of course) attached to a marine battery, and could hear no difference in performance on either unit, even when pulling the vacuum over a thick area rug. I ran each for 4 or 5 minutes. I haven't used it much since, but based on the tests I was impressed.

Nice package, i haven't pushed it past 1000W to date and its working well. Just keep in mind that there is a 7 to 1 ratio when converting 12 volts to 120 volts. So your car battery will have to be in really good condition to power this or be connected to your car as its running. Or have multiple batteries in parallel.
