This bass guitar was great from the beginning.I didn't expect it to be this way. After I put it together and started playing it it was awesome. I've been a luthier for forty five years, So fortunately, I knew how to set it up.But I would've highly recommend this product. Especially? For a beginner.

Zero instructions, missaligned pickup cutouts, the neck gap is NOTH8NG like the original. The basswood on the body is THIN! It is definitely a hollow body, lol. There is VERY LITTLE holding the back to the front except a small block of basswood, and it is not flush with either the top of bottom. I am pretty sure that with some long playing, that glue will become, well, unglued, lol. I might update this Bass review if I even bother with the build. I might just make wall art with it. Bottom line, you get what you paid for and this is a $180 box of cheap Chinese electronic puzzle pieces. Maybe I'll fix the review, idk. Wish me luck, lol.

I bought this in September thinking I could have it ready by the end of December for a birthday gift. It's is nice, and has all the parts, however there aren't instructions on how to put it together. I reached out to Bexgears, and they couldn't help me in September. They told me to call back in a couple of months. I reached out AGAIN in November to find they still didn't have the instructions. The lady was very pleasant and apologetic at Bexgears. I found a bass shop to assemble it, but it will cost me $80 per hour labor to assemble (possibly 3 hours) . That doesn't even count finding a person to paint/stain/lacquer the wood. This is becoming a VERY expensive project! I still can't find someone to paint/stain/lacquer at a reasonable price. One company told me at least $800!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!! Beware on purchasing this unless you know someone to help you! :( :( :(

This kit is a fantastic piece, sounds great and play really well. The kit did not come with instructions, so you should have a general knowledge of wood working and electronics BEFORE BUYING IT.The only other con would be the fact that the bridge pickup ring is far too low to pick up the strings very well, so I'm gonna try and reach out to Hofner to get a replacement.10/10 know what you're getting into before building, it's not a lego set.
