When my 20 + year old Makita ROS finally died, I started shopping for a replacement. But for any of the name brands over 2 amps I was in the $100 + range. Meanwhile my 20 + years old Black & Decker drills were still working perfectly (Replace the battery's last year) and I figured I'd give their budget ROS a try and see how it worked.Not only are the ergonomics’ superior to the Makita and Porter Cable I tried at Home Depot, but its operation is butter smooth and the results were flawless.I've been a custom Drum builder for 33 years and natural finishes on exotic woods are part of my product line. This little sander really surprised me with not only the quality of the finish but its ability to keep the dust in the collection bag and out of the air. Not sure if a vacuum adapter is available but if it is, that could possibly make this a zero dust sander. Only other option I wish it had ? A variable speed control (but at $32.75 delivered, I got no complaints!)Not sure about longevity as I’ve only had it for a week, but the build seems solid, the weight and balance (IMHO) is damn near perfect and this is easily as good as any of the sanders I coulda bought for $150 +.Very happy so far!

Powerful little sander. I was skeptical at first I started using I was amazed by how powerful and efficient the sander is I love the fact that it has the dust bag and easy to use.

I purchased a "like new" Amazon Warehouse version of this BLACK & DECKER Random Orbit Sander. I had looked at the less powerful version of it, but when I spotted this 2.4 Amp version with a few discs for about the same price, I decided to take a chance on it.When I purchased this orbital sander I had two specific projects in mind (sanding and refinishing old side tables and smoothing masonry), and no experience with orbital sanders, but I have previously used an orbital buffer for waxing my car. To help me with my projects, I purchased extra sanding pads in various grits.The sander comes with very little documentation, but the simple manual is satisfactory for getting started and troubleshooting. I was able to glance at it and get started in less than 10 minutes. The only assembly is putting on the small bag that catches the dust from sanding.There is a simple switch that turns on the sander and a cord that is about 4' long attached. Have a good grip on the sander before turning it on as the sander is surprisingly powerful. Wear eye protection when using the sander, and unplug the sander to put on the sanding pads or remove them. This is done with ease and the pads attach via Velcro-like adhesion, making them easy to put on and remove, yet secure while in use.For DIY craft and home use, I think this is a good purchase. It's not ideal for heavy-duty use, but if you are sanding cabinets, smoothing a patched wall, or putting the finishing touches on a birdhouse - it's great.

I have a few old school palm samders lying around, but all the guitar builders in the videos I watch are using this type. So I got this one, a cheaper model than the ones I see in the stores.Boy, what a difference this is compared to the old type. This thing sands quickly and neatly with very little dust. Paper changes are a cinch. And it even sands curves and irregular surfaces fairly easily.My first impression is that this is a nice tool. I sanded an electric guitar to 320 grit in less than an hour.

What a great little sander this is. It feels comfortable to hold and is easy to use, not a lot of vibration noticed, and the unit is easy to control. For the price, it is a great value and buy.

This orbital has a good sanding pattern that is easy to buff out scratches, along with a pack of good sandpaper this will take care of most sanding jobs and all finishing work you need. I bought a belt sander for rough sanding,but this is my go-to for general sanding now.

Great product! Alwsys lived b&d products. This sander was replacing my Bosch sander and im so glad i bought it. Works amazing! So much more powerful than my Bosch and the pad were the sanding disks stays put, not like Bosch. Ive had to replace that thing at least 4 times in the past yr ive owned it!
