I got this for my quaker after having her struggle with a plastic cone from the vet for over a week. Keep in mind for someone with no experience with cones on a bird It's normal for birds to fight with a colar for a week or so because they are dramatic and it can get scarry watching them fight with the cone dont give into their drama. However since my girl akready suffered with an uncomfortable plastic cone for a week as soon as I put this on her she calmed down and accepted it and immediately left it alone shortly after it was put on. I believe it was because she was more comfortable with this fabric one that she calmed down. The snaps are easy to undo so if you have a bird who is extra good at taking things off you might have to duck tape it or put the snaps facing downwards instead of facing up. I will be ordering more of these for my girl. The only suggestion I have for the seller is to increase the sturdiness of the buttons make them harder to unsnap or add velcro flap over snaps to increase the removal difficulty for those who have little houdini birds.

I tried to use this product for my quacker parrot but it doesn't fit and is just a choke collar, not a cone. Needs size adjustment options.

I like that this item is well-made and so pretty cause I ordered two different sets from two different companies, and this one is really made nicely and would be hard for him to eat. I know the buttons he would probably be able snap off. The color is just a bit too big for him. It’s moving around and he can get his head out of it so it’s really not good for his neck so the one size fits all doesn’t work. I bought another color that was Velcro and that was a lot more easier to get on. I really like this color so I’m gonna try to figure out a way maybe to sew on Velcro to make it work better. my quaker parrot is 25 years old so his neck might be a little smaller to.

There are so many times when you will need one of these if you have a flock of birds. I have 18, and once in a while someone gets a toe bit, and I have one particular bird that self-plucks when he molts and we need to "cone" him for part of the day. This is stylish and well made, and I'll order a few more of these. Next time someone gets a toe bit, I can cone them so they can't lick the antibiotic off their toes or aggravate the wound so it bleeds again. Next molt for my quaker will go easier with this cone- as the ones the vet gave me are awkward and less flexible- the really don't object anywhere near as much to this one, as I'm guessing it's more comfortable for them... or maybe it's just more stylish and that makes them happy.Highly recommend! Even if you don't immediately think you need one- it's a "must have" in your birdie first aid kit, because when you need it, you'll need to have it on hand right away. Very happy with this and I'm telling all my bird friends to get one!
