my bird will sit on the ladder and chew on the beads one by one. then when the beads are exhausted start on the "steps". now, one step is hanging off and it is no longer a ladder but a chew toy. if your bird likes chewing wood, be prepared for this to be destroyed eventually. it took my bird about 1 month to destroy it. at first, she did use it as a ladder. but she loved it so much it is now in near rubbles!fear - i do wonder if the colors are safe for birds?? would slightly prefer unpainted natural one to be safe.for size reference my bird is a lilac crowned amazon weighs about 320 grams.

My conure really enjoys his new ladder and it fit perfectly in his cage, definitely measure your birds cage before purchasing! The ladder is pretty sturdy, highly reccomend.
