This product appears to be a high quality and faultless reproduction of a USGI Sleep Systems Bivy Bag in every respect except that it is not a Gortex product. As I have a USGI Sleep System Bivy Bag I'm in a position to, and have, conducted a detailed side by side comparison. At half the price of the genuine article I purchased this item as an emergency shelter and survival item for day trips while saving my USGI Bivy Bag for the serious stuff. This item is well made and is finished to a high standard. All the internal seams are properly seam sealed with tape but I will give the exterior stitched seams a coating of seam sealant before use. It packs down to a modest size in the bag provided and is not unduly heavy and will be unobtrusive in my day pack. There is ample room in this bag and you would have to be a technical giant before you ran out of room, even fully clothed in winter gear. I consider this to have been an excellent purchase and great value for money. There is no indication of the products country of origin or manufacture. I'm looking forward to field testing it and although I have no doubt as to its waterproof quality I'll be interested in it's breathability. I'm always surprised how many people venture into the outdoors without any form of emergency shelter or cover to provide protection from the elements should it all go wrong ? A product like this can mean the difference between life and death.

Product exceeded my expectations. Was well put together and made for a great sleep system with my mummy bag. Attached easily to my rucksack and made bivouac set up easy. Will hold in condensation in though due to it being waterproof, which is why we want one in the first place. If it'll keep water out, it'll keep water in. Dries quickly and even when rolled up. Very breathable. Pretty durable too. Mine is holding up very well. Didn't hold dirt either while sleeping on the ground. Great product. Would buy again.

A good quality compact bivvy sack that holds up decently.I've used it with my matching intermediate rated sleeping bag and it buttons together quite well, ample room, and the hood and Velcro keeps you more or less safe from bugs and dew.I use mine in the summer for nights that end at a low of like 60 on its own with a wool blanket or my army surplus jacket inside and it works just fine if you find somewhere soft to lay down.ifni had too I would buy again.

Windproof? Heck yes.Waterproof? mmmmm....kinda.Light drizzles are fine but if there's moderate rainfall, it's going to soak.I used it the weekend of the 21st of Sept 2024 in Elbert CO.From 9pm Saturday to about 5am Sunday there was 50-90% rainfall and it got soaked through the zipper. It wasn't terrible. I was sleeping under a poncho tent but my feet stuck out and that's where the issue was. If you're thinking "waterproof" means you are 100% protected from rain, you're wrong. I'd say it's "heavily water resistant."I have no issues with the wind in previous outings. If you're looking here for Milsim West gear, I'd recommend getting actual military issued stuff. I'm replacing this with a USMC improved bivy and keeping this as a loaner or back up.
