spendy but well worth it if you are installing more than a couple slab doors. I'm a landlord managing a number of rentals and replacing interior doors or, in the case of the pictures included here, doors in storage units is a lot easier with a good kit - just get a slab door, mark the door knob and hinge locations from the old door to the new and you're off to the races. Coupled with the Ryobi hinge boring kit (not quite as heavy duty but a decent piece of equipment if you're careful with it) you can bang out new doors for when tenant's "accidentally" put a foot through one or the like in nothing flat. No splintering, no shimmying about - perfect every time. The pictures here are me replacing 3 storage unit doors and I just left the original hinges in place on the frame - lined up perfectly - just a little planing on a couple to match the width and put it in the books. Good kit that will last you a long time.

I have wanted a professional boring kit for some time. I finally bought this one. What a great tool. It brings a smile to my face every time I use it. Yesterday my wife wanted me to change out a brass door knob with a brushed nickel one. I swapped it out but the old door knob just had a round collar instead of a plate for the striker. I could have just replaced the round collar but I now will go out of my way to use my Templaco. I routed out a new dado the plate and finished the job. Very slick tool. Highly recommend.

If you have to bore multiple doors, once a week, once a month…. Saving the time in the ease of use with this tool is worth the price.

Great jig!!! Bought this to replace my classic engineering jig that’s been great but wore out at this point. Wish I had gotten this years ago. Great product and very easy to use well worth the money.

Very nice setup. It does not come with the router guide or bit for the for the latch plate. So make sure you order them. When boring for the knob you will have to remove the jig and bore through the other side so not to have any tear out.
