The pinch style carbiners are very easy to use. Attaching it to the harness need a bit of wiggling, but it fits.

Carabiners after just a few days of use consistently stay OPEN and even when snapped on a line don't always shut. Lubrication makes no difference.I bought this set for a trip to Europe this summer and just getting back.The FB climbing group I belong to in Europe confirmed other members have had the same problems described below. No one had a good experience with BD's support. I've gotten the "well just send it back but the cost is on you" response.Item was bought new June 2024 but mfg date is 2 years old and the lifespan is 10 years from mfg date. To me that's also unacceptable, I bought it new from BD's shop expecting 10 year life and got 8. I didn't get a 20% discount.This is a life saving device that doesn't work right. In the hands of a new or inexperienced climber that doesn't think it's a big deal this could have deadly consequences.I suggest to NEVER buy this set -- It clearly has a design fault as more than half a dozen people on a single FB group reported the same issue I was experiencing. It is also not new (80% life in my case). The mfg also doesn't even consider it a problem to have this fault and demanded I pay for shipping to return it to refurbish it.Stay Clear!

On our first use of this Ferrata set (three weeks after purchase), fresh out of packaging, the "easy rider" carabineer gate failed to close numerous times. The same carabineer would continuously stick open, and you would have to tap on the clip or squeeze it a few times to try and get it to release. This posed a serious safety issue, with the gate sticking open. We had to keep a close eye on it as we finished the Ferrata, ensuring the gate closed each time we transfered sections of the route. While I understand product issues can occur, I would expect BD to stand behind their brand and remediate the issue. Instead, I had to open a support case, which they told me fell under their warranty process. Before replacing it they had to inspect the gear (understandable), but then put the shipping costs into me. A whopping $44 of shipping costs, to remedy their poor product quality and safety issue. I'm not normally one to complain openly about products because things happen, I get it, but when a company doesn't stand behind their mistakes to remedy it... Unacceptable.

The carabiners have clear wear marks from being used. Selling used climbing gear as “new†is extremely dangerous!
