About this item

  • A GUITAR PICK BUILT FOR FINGERPICKING: Players love Black Mountain picks because they allow you to switch between playing with your fingers and playing with a pick whenever you feel the urge!
  • MEDIUM GAUGE THUMB PICKS: 1.5 mm at the hinge, tapering to .7 mm at the tip with beveled edges. Standard pick shape. Feels like a .8 or .9 mm, nylon pick. Soft grey, tapered ring for comfort. Flexible guitar pick, great for strumming. NEW INVENTION!
  • FOR GUITAR PLAYERS! Presenting the world's first spring-loaded thumb guitar picks! The spring-loaded arm adapts to your individual finger providing a comfortable fit for medium to extra large thumbs. Game changer for players who want to switch between finger style and flat picking on the fly!
  • MADE BY A GUITAR TEACHER: The Black Mountain thumb pick sprung from the mind of Cole McBride, a full-time guitar teacher. After testing hundreds of guitar picks, he saw room for improvement and set out to invent a new kind of thumb pick. The Black Mountain Pick was born.

These are the best thumb picks I’ve ever owned, and I’ve been playing guitar for 30+ years! I’ve always had trouble with thumb picks because I have large thumbs, but with the spring loaded grip it fits perfectly and being shaped like a normal pick it allows me to both finger and flat pick! I thought the price was a little high but all in all well worth it! Has become my go to for all my playing!! Highly recommend

Finally a thumb pick that stays on, doesn’t break and works wonderfully!!! Don’t think I’ll ever use another pick… unless Black Mountain upgrades!!!!

While this is not the perfect thumb pick, it is much more comfortable than most. It stays on the thumb well enough for reliable up and down picking with a bit of care. The pick length and material are not quite right for me (too long, and too much "bite", but the stiffness is good for picking. There is another thumb pick that has a velcro strap on the pick - that one is very nice for its short stickout and nylon heavy pick, but it doesn't last. This pick makes the transition from hybrid picking to boom chick easier because the pick isn't so disstracting.I'm always wary of gizmos because they are often missing when needed. In this case, it is a nice luxury to have.

Game changing. I've gone through a few of the other high review thumb picks and this is just so much better. Fits the thumb (and multiple thumb sizes) without affecting circulation, and just feels springy and amazing. Quality is great, and immediately it's easier to play. Sounds better on the strings too. Will be telling my friends to pick this up.

Have been using for about 2 weeks of practice now, and am liking this thumb pick better than any I've used before. I've always disliked molded thumb picks as they simply won't stay put. The spring tension on this pick solves that issue. It stays where I put it. I've tried those that have cloth or neoprene holders for the pick too, and while they work pretty well, they're a pain to take on/off especially in the middle of a set, or esp during a song. These are quite expensive compared to almost all other molded thumb picks, but seem durable and if they last, they'll be well worth the cost.

works well enough, but i was hoping for a miracle i guess. there's not much that distinguishes these guys from standard (and more affordable) one-piece thumb picks. was hopeful that the spring design would somehow make it also feel like a standard pick but it really doesn't. and i've always favored slightly thinner picks, which this pick ain't; if they made a "thin" i'd try it.

They really are good. Not as tight as a regular thumb pick and I like the way they glide over the strings like they do. When these wear out, I'll definitely order more.

When I received my order, there was only one pick in the package. I had assumed that it was a 3 pack. Nearly $20.00 for one pick - live & learn- I wont be purchasing in the future.

The Black Mountain Pick was great quality and is the most comfortable thumb pick I have tried. The customer service I received was excellent too.

Use the jazz version all the time for flat picking and combined pick/hand chord strumming . Has never fell off but sometimes when heavy strumming slides along a little but easy to compensate mid song
