I used to have one of the generic 2-Ton hoists years ago, a GoodYear one from Costco, I think. I bought this because what I do most is move around metalworking machines, and this crane's forks are low enough to the ground to get under a pallet, which is super handy. Despite this being billed as a 1-Ton crane, the construction is much heavier than my 2-Ton, and the capacity at full extension is greater (3/4 ton vs 1/2). The Black Widow has giant 1" bolts and pins on the legs, 5/16" thick plate and tubing, no need for that top strap the others have, this one is just built better. Despite the hefty overall weight, the parts are liftable and I was able to assemble it easily in 15 minutes by myself. I'm very happy I decided to spend a couple hundred extra for this instead of another 2-Ton, the difference is well worth it.

The pictures show this as one solid crane on the base. It may have been that way but the ones shipping will have 7 metric bolts holding the base to the main post. My crane if assembled as expected will be leaning to one side 5 degrees. This can/will be resolved with 4 spacers under the side it leans to. I am going to drill out these 7 metric 12x1.75 - 30 bolts as the metal they are tapped into is very thin and only has 2-3 threads engaged. Understand this is the most pivot stress point with the crane. I will be drilling the threads out and replacing with 1/2-13 grade 8 bolts and nuts. There is access to do so and I understand this voids any warranty but for me it is safety and not having to deal with returns of this size. that whole post is bolted to the bottom. NOT welded as shown in the pictures. Also make note that the end that holds the hook is just a slot to hold a chain and then a bolt going through the chain. But you are unable to pass the chain through to shorten the chain and re lock it if that makes sense so you are locked into the chain length provided unless you actually cut the chain. The end is NOT a pivot as shown in the pictures with the hook on a swivel.

This thing folds very compactly. Well made and very solid. Casters are smooth and make this big hoist easy to move. Hardware is heavy duty and welds look prettyLooking forward to pulling an old FE390 outta a 63 Tbird. This lift should handle that nicely.

great welding, very sturdy, rolls nice around the shop, lifts so damn high it goes into my rafters, twist lock pins, and a dual action pump all indicate a fantastic tool. After the job it folds up so damn tight I can fit it in places no other hoist can go. The reach is crazy long while still able to pull a diesel. Tbis thing seriously rocks and I'm happy I paid way more for a quality tool than the POS hoists I've borrowed from friends.

I needed a mobile crane to move heavy equipment around the garage. And selected this particular one for a few key reasons.1. Very compact when folded up. Only takes up about 18sq inches.2. legs are only about 3" off the ground, so it can fit in places most other cranes can't.3. Technically sold as a 1 ton crane, but it supports 3/4 ton at full extension which is closer to a 2 ton crane capacity.4. Heavy duty materials ranging from 4mm - 8mm for the arm assembly. And base plate looks about 12mm. Grade 5 equivalent bolts (marked 8.8). WAY better build quality than the 2 ton lifts that I found locally.5. welded handle makes moving the unit much easierThe Bad1. locking pin receiver used to securing legs in upright position misaligned on one side and needed some persuasion to correct.2. Threading for the six grade 5 bolts that connect the main boom to the base plate are rough. They worked in my case, but it wouldn't surprise me if some units might need to have these re-tapped.3. Welds looked rushed. But they are full welds.4. Casters are not great. Front casters look like some sort of nylon material. I'll replace with steel casters when these wear out.I also appreciated that this came partially assembled in a crate. Only took about an hour to set up, and half of that time was spent prepping the hydraulic jack. All things considered it's an amazing crane for the price. And it's the ONLY crane that I found with 3/4 ton lift capacity at full extension with minimal clearance needed to fit under equipment and only takes up 18sq inches for storage. Perfect for my needs.
