I already had a 4.5 inch and 6.5 inch square rulers, but ordered this BlocLoc set of 3 because my rulers kept slipping during rotary cutting. I love that these BlocLoc rulers have a diagonal groove I can align with half square triangles and hour glass blocks to easily square the blocks.I even use the 2.5 inch ruler to square smaller half square triangles before piecing together larger 4.5 inch blocks. It's even convenient for trimming jelly roll or 2.5 inch strips into 2.5 inch squares.This set of 3 are very commonly used sizes in quilting. I used them to make Jacob's ladder 6.5 inch blocks as well as the several 6.5 inch blocks in one of Edyta Sitar's Mystery Quilts.Besides the diagonal groove, I also really like the inch, half inch, quarter inch and 1/8 inch marks on all the rulers. It means I can use all 3 sizes for smaller sized blocks as well.This ruler set has really improved my cutting accuracy for better piecing!

Every quilter needs these for perfect half square triangles. I’ve made h/s triangles many years. These are perfect and easy to use. A little pricey but well worth it.

I've made a ton of HST's before and I always cut my initial fabric a little larger since my sewing and cutting are always perfect, and I'd rather trim down instead of having to try to make new because something was too small. I had been using a regular 6.5 inch square ruler to trim them down but saw these and they seemed like they would make that process easier. I have used the 4.5 inch ruler so far and am really liking how it works, and I'm actually trimming the HST's down to 4.25 inches and it seems to be working very well. Definitely worth getting these.

use the product for trimming half square triangles. I had friends rave about there Bloc loc rulers, now I know what the hype was about. It was easy to figure out how to use this ruler for trimming, love the way you can slide and turn your block with the ruler and trim quickly and accurately.
