Review of Block and Tackle Pulley System, 2200lbs for Lifting ObjectsI recently purchased the Block and Tackle Pulley System, and I must say, it has been an invaluable addition to my toolkit. Designed for lifting heavy objects, this 4-wheel rope pulley hoist boasts an impressive 2200lbs capacity and a 7:1 lifting power ratio, which makes it perfect for a variety of tasks, from lifting items in my garage to aiding in my hunting endeavors. One of the standout features of this pulley system is its 65 feet of sturdy 5/16” rope. The length is quite generous, allowing for a wide range of motion and accessibility, whether I’m working in a confined space or an open area. The rope is robust and shows no signs of wear, even after multiple uses, which is a testament to its quality. In terms of performance, the system works exactly as it should. The pulley mechanism operates smoothly, providing a significant mechanical advantage that makes lifting even the heaviest items feel effortless. I've used it to hoist heavy equipment and it handles the load with ease. The 7:1 ratio means I can lift heavy objects without straining myself, which is especially important during demanding tasks.Further adding to my satisfaction is the overall build quality. The materials used feel durable and well-constructed, ensuring that this pulley system will withstand the test of time. Its sleek black finish is also a nice aesthetic touch that adds to its professional appearance.Overall, I can honestly say that this Block and Tackle Pulley System has exceeded my expectations. It's user-friendly, reliable, and versatile. If you’re looking for an effective solution for lifting heavy objects, I highly recommend this product. I would not hesitate to buy it again if the need arises – it’s simply that good!

This is a decent quality block and tackle system for light or medium duty work. It's very similar to others that I own. I certainly would NOT trust the rope to be used at the advertised 2200 lbs working limit. While I won't test the rope's limit, it just doesn't feel that strong. I'd feel comfortable using this rope for 200-300 lbs for short durations or, maybe less than 150 for long duration hangs (ie, leaving something hoisted in the garage for long term storage). While I wish the rope quality were stronger, its the typical quality of rope to expect at this price point. If you're new to using block and tackle systems, you should know that this one will arrive rigged wrong. They pretty much all do and I'm not sure why. If you try to use it as shipped, it WILL absolutely be hard to pull, it will operate in a lop-side manner, it will twist on itself and, it will wear the rope unevenly. In fact, the way it's rigged, under load, will cause the rope to rub against the metal pulley plates, degrading and weakening the rope.I'm posting two photos. The one with the white rope is the one shipped and rigged wrong. The one with orange rope is how I rig it. Notice that the bottom pully is perpendicular to the top pulley. Notice that the end of the rope, which you pull on, is placed in the *MIDDLE of the top pulley. *Since their are 4 rope positions, Middle means either position 2 or 3.I'm just totally flabbergasted that budget pulleys (not just this brand, pretty much all of them) are shipped with incorrect rigging. How does that happen? Anyhow, it's easy to fix and you really want to rig the system yourself so that you understand it. So if the price is right, this system is a fine one to purchase.

From time to time I have been in the need to lift items up while working on them. I have considered an electric hoist but they were very expensive and I couldn't justify it cost. I don't have a garage so most of my work is outside next to my shed. To try this block and tackle product out I attached the upper hook to a sling on a large branch in the tree next to the shed. I then attached the lower end to the hitch on my riding lawn mower. I wanted to see how easy it would be to lift the back end of the mower off the ground. With the 7 to 1 ratio of the pulleies it was very easy to lift it off the ground. I tied the end of the rope that I pulled around the base of the tree and the mower hung there on its front wheels very securely. I took the opportunity to do a bit of maintenance on the mower. When pulling the rope to lift the mower it only took one hand to hold it and it only felt like 30 pounds. It amazes me the amount of leverage you get with this thing. I know that I will find all kinds of uses for this block and tackle. It is only rated for 2,200 pounds which in one ton. I am not sure if it is the rope or the block and tackle that are the limiting factor but I definitely don't want to even try something that heavy. I do hunt for deer on occasions and I know this will come in handy to string one up. I feel it's a very handy item to have around. The even supply a bag to store it in.
