With a chain from the lock you can further secure it to other equiptment in the gym such as racks and weight trees. I have my own bar at my gym so I bought this to keep people from using it and ruining it like they do the gym's bars. This with a nice bright brass lock has worked well to keep people from using it. I also leave my nice collars on the inside of the lock so I don't have to carry them in my gym bag. It's certainly only keeping honest people honest but that's all I really needed. Just something to let others know it's someone's personal bar. At almost $400 I didn't want everyone using it. This has been a good buy for my need. I did also but a steel cable in case I need to anchor it but so far I haven't had any issues that I think I need to. The lock I got fits easy with plenty of room for my cable or a chain.

Product works as described. We use it on our log press to keep it safe while stored at the gym. Works perfectly and was delivered in a timely fashion.

It’s good as a deterrent. It’s plastic housing with the metal clamping bar adjusted by the included Allen key. Nothing crazy, works as intended but I want to make clear that if someone wanted to remove this from a barbell it is possible. That’s why I refer to this as a deterrent and nothing more.

This is a complete waste of money. It arrived missing the set screw that actually locks the collar to the bar, kind of the most important piece. Made of plastic. This collar is very easy to break into and unlock. Very disappointed with this product.

Works well but why is it 45 dollars for a piece of plastic with steel in it?! And I don’t like that it doesn’t come with a lock and that’s an extra purchase. But it’s the only barbell lock I can find so it will have to do!
