Let Your Plants Look After Themselves!

Never Over or Under-Water Again

Blumat Classics function simply, using a siphon to pull water from a reservoir into a container, emitting it through the porous ceramic cone. Austrian-Engineered plant stakes that are superior in design, material quality, and durability.

plants, live, houseplants, terra, cotta, pots, plant, stakes, watering, cans, outdoor, globes, self

How does it work?

As the soil dries, the ceramic cone delivers water gradually into the surrounding earth - thereby creating a vacuum within the cone which draws water from the nearby container of water. Once the soil is moistened the Blumat will cease flowing water. It waters your plants only as needed.

Adjust Water Flow

  • If the Blumat is over-watering your plant, you can place the reservoir lower (relative to the Blumat). The reservoir can be as far as 12″ below the Blumat while still watering your plant, albeit slowly.
  • If the Blumat is under-watering your plant, you can raise the reservoir relative to the Blumat. The higher the reservoir, the faster the flow rate.

Instructions

plants, live, houseplants, terra, cotta, pots, plant, stakes, watering, cans, outdoor, globes, self

Step 1

Fill a bowl with water. Remove the top of the Blumat. Put both the top and ceramic cone into the bowl for at least 15 minutes. Submerge the ceramic cones.

propagation, planter, indoor, bulbs, water, bottles, clay, pot, spike, garden, small, can, hoya

Step 2

Remove the cone from the water, while keeping it as full of water as possible. Secure the green cap on top.

*Tip: It is best to attach the cap and the ceramic bottom in the bowl - under the water.

devices, spikes, grow, succulent, bottle, waterer, stake, house, automatic, terracotta, hanging

Step 3

Push the ceramic cone into the soil. Place the white anchor at the end of the 3mm tubing into a reservoir.

How To Control Watering Speed

Regulate your water

The water level in the water container is the same or slightly lower than the green Blumat cap.

This is the ideal position, water is dispensed according to the degree of moisture in the soil.

Water discharge approximate:

75 ml / 24 h or 125 ml / 24 h (XL)

Level of Cap

The water level in the water container is significantly lower than the green Blumat cap.

Watering is dispensed according to the degree of moisture in the soil. As the roots need more energy to draw in water, water discharge reduces -

Water discharge approx:

50 ml / 24 h or 75 ml / 24 h (XL)

Watering capacity

The water level in the water container is higher than the green Blumat cap.

This positioning allows water to flow from the container into the cone, the Blumat Classic therefore constantly discharges water even if the soil is moist enough.

Water discharge approx:

150 ml / 24 h, or 200 ml / 24h (XL)

I've used these each time we leave home to travel and all of my plants have been watered appropriately, even though they're different sizes and types of plants. We've been gone weeks at a time and this really works! You have to follow the directions exactly - Water your plants first! This is important. Take the SEPARATED Blumat pieces (both the spike and top with the tubing) and immerse completely in water for 15 minutes , then, making sure the stakes are below water and filled to the top, place the plastic top on the spike underwater so it's a complete unit. Remove the unit from the water, and position it in your pot near the plant, planting the spike in the dirt. I fill a 2500 ml bowl with water and place it near my plants, submersing the tubings to the bottom of the bowl and cover the bowl with plastic wrap to prevent evaporation. It takes 3-4 weeks to empty the bowl (I have a 13 inch pot with a peace lily; a 6 inch pot with an ivy; and a 4 inch pot with an African violet). I tested this out the first time for a week before traveling so I could see how it worked. Hint: If you don't water the plants first, this won't draw water in as well and the plants could dry out while you're gone. So water first, then start the system. I played around with positioning the bowl even with the pots, versus higher or lower than the pots. I found that having the pots and bowl all on the same level worked the best. If the bowl was higher than the pots, it watered them too much, and too little if the bowl was lower than the pots. I recommend trialing this system while you're still around to see what's happening and what you need to adjust. Don't wait to the last minute to test this or give a bad review because you didn't test the system with your plants before leaving. This really works and waters each plant with exactly how much it needs. I've never lost a plant and I haven't been disappointed with the state of my plants when I come home. I do place my plants in a location with indirect sunlight when I'm gone, which keeps down evaporation and maintains a better water level in the bowl. The Blumat website gives specific directions and video information. It's a no-brainer. Great product when used right!

Wow! These worked like a charm while I was gone for almost 1.5 months!!!!!! I used either the small or larger ones in my plants (depending on plant size/planter) and 5 gallon buckets (covered with saran wrap) and when I came home, I still had plenty of water and my plants were thriving. Make sure to follow directions --- soak the clay piece in water, fill completely, weight the bottom of the tube in the water to keep in the water.....HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The product is working well. Kept the plants watered while on a 1 week vacation, with some water to spare.Adjusting the level of you water container is very important, read up on their little guide.I had a little problem at first, there is so much tension in the coiled plastic hose the hose inlet would be floating near the top of my container in a coiled position. Never really followed the water level down.Simple solution, in order to keep the inlet at the bottom of the container I added an 8 gram fishing weight to each unit. Much more consistency of watering. Not sure if others had same issue or had other solution.I will buy again, since it saved my plants.

Simple yet efficient! Left 2 months and arranged all my house plants around a big water bucket. Came back, plants were happy, had grown and were moist. Very easy to set up too.

Every positive review is true! I bought these the day before I left for a month and was very stressed as I had just trimmed and transplanted my monstera and have a few other small plants as well. Based on the reviews here, I took them and soaked for 1hr, then closed the caps underwater (making sure they were completely full of water). I watered all my plants, then put them in and watered a bit on top of the stakes themselves to really keep them moist. I placed the water jugs level or 3” lower (for the monstera). I also pulled a fair bit on the tubes to get them to be as long as possible without curling up and so if I had more time I would probably recommend untying them in advance and letting them hang down. However, all was well and they worked perfectly!!!! I used 2 gallon containers for my monstera (and 2 stakes, one in each), and 1 gallon for my three other plants and it was the right amount for 4 weeks. My plants are so healthy, multiple new leaves on my pathos, new buds and a leaf on my monstera, and even the monstera cutting I tried to propagate rooted! I will be setting them up again and will just let them water themselves from now on!

I use these for all my indoor plants, and they have saved so many of them from me! I’m always super busy and would often forget to water my plants or assume they were fine when they were actually desperate for water. Since using these, my little indoor garden has thrived!I highly recommend pairing them with a clear water reservoir so you can easily monitor the water levels. These have kept my plants alive and thriving across a wide variety of species. Plus, the seller was fantastic—when I had an issue, they went above and beyond to make it right! I can’t recommend this item enough!

Blumat Classic Automatic Plant Watering Stakes are AMAZING!!! I received them, followed the directions, my plants have never been happier. Here are my tips as per directions and reviews….1) Make sure you try them for at least 2 weeks before your planned vacation to make sure they are set up correctly.2) make sure to lightly sand entire (pottery) surface of stakes3) soak stakes and tops (attached to tubes) in a container for 1 hour4) leaving both pieces in the container with water, make sure the stakes are filled with water (while you are holding it under the water) and place cap on and off several times until all the air has been released and there are no more air bubbles coming out of the end of tube. Watch carefully for this while all parts are submerged.5) after watering your plants the “traditional” way, place stake into soil gently (without disrupting plant roots). Depending on the size of your plant, you might need additional stakes.6) place the end of tube into container with water (depending on how long you are gone, the container should be large enough to hold a sufficient amount of water).***after set up, you should notice water decreasing from the container. Keep in mind, if your soil was wet initially, your plant will require less water from the stakes. Once the soil is no longer wet from the “traditional” watering, you will notice your plant “drinking daily” from the stakes. If you see that one is not working, remove from soil, rinse, sand the stake again, soak, place cover on and off again several times (while your holding both pieces under water) until no bubbles come out of the tube anymore. Then place the stake in your soil and try again. The first time I used these for my plants (out of town for 5 weeks) I put all my plants into my bathroom, just in case the system did not Work properly. I wanted to make it easier for my neighbour to water everything in case it was no successful. (I had someone stop by weekly to make sure everything was ok). I also bought large buckets from Home Depot (approx. $3 each) so the plants were sure to have enough water. It worked perfectly!!!! My buckets were large enough, that my neighbour never had to add extra water. The plants “took what they needed”. When I returned home, my plants looked green and so happy. Actually better than “traditional” watering. I took them out of the bathroom and placed them all back where they belonged throughout my house. I was so happy with the results, I’ve decided to permanently “water” my plants with the stakes. Much easier and the plants love it! Last 4 pictures are plants in their permanent locations with stakes set up. I check water levels and add as necessary. Super easy!! It’s a little time consuming to set up initially, but well worth it!!! Plants will ❤️ You and you will save time in the long run!!! It’s been a month since I’ve returned and my plants are thriving and sooo happy!!!HIGHLY recommend! Read other reviews for tips!!! I have a lot of plants so I ordered 2 sets.

Buen precio.

I've struggled with getting them right for house plants - 3 of my plants doing great, 2 have had way too much water coming through (my fault as no time to try and rectify).I have been working a lot lately and haven't had a chance to get outside to water the plants - consistent 35 to 40 Celsius every day. I've got half of my flower bed (pictured) set up with blumats and half without and you can clearly see the side flourishing! I'm very impressed.
