Bought a 68 Firebird a while back and the shifter indicator cable just was old and kinked. Replaced with a new one and it works like it should.

Bought this gear indicator cable to replace the stock one that came with the B&M console Megashifter, as the original inner cable would bend rather than move the indicator to show the correct position the transmission was in. This new one is also too flimsy to get the job done. I guess B&M cut costs with this indicator cable. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this. Guessing what transmission position you are in is more accurate.

I don't know if it was the cable or the shifter, but the gear selector indicator did not match up exactly with the gear I was in so I had to fab it to move beyond what it was able to move. Looks just like the old cable though.

Works on my B&M universal ratchet shifter I have in my 84 regal.

This was ordered to repair a B&M shifter unit. Works as described and was not too difficult to install. Would recommend for your compatible shifter unit
