I bought these because my original tuning pegs were about 5 years old and cracking...they could have gone any day. These are, in my opinion, too large and a bit clunky to advertise for a ukulele. They are slightly too large so the screws went in at an angle. I kept the original screws in because it felt like the right thing to do.These came to me horribly beat up. Scratched, not at all polished, it looked like I got some that had been pre-owned and used for YEARS. I will keep them on until I can get a better solution, but yikes, you get what you pay for.EDIT: As I continued to put them on, I cannot in good conscience put in that last screw. I purchased these because someone said it worked on their KA-15S... apparently not mine. I'll be finding a different replacement posthaste.

I purchased these to replace the ones on my granddaughter's soprano ukulele, as several of its buttons loosened on their shafts. It’s an entry-level uke, so of course it didn’t make much sense to spend a fortune on expensive machine heads. So, I took a chance with these. At this price I didn’t expect much out of them, and in fact received far less.- The product is not as pictured. As previously mentioned, the main reason I was replacing the machine heads was loose buttons. I was attracted to these since the product pictures show screws at the button ends, which would make for a much more secure mount on their shafts. In actuality there are no button screws at all, they are simply press-fit.- Poor fitting ferrules.Although they were a tiny bit wider in diameter than the existing ferrules I was replacing (which during installation I thought would be a good thing, to better grip the wood), their serration is very minimal. When the tighter strings (G/A) were tuned to pitch, they began pulling forward and out of their holes, leaving a gap facing the top of the headstock.- The holes in the tuning posts are about 3-4mm higher than typical uke machine heads. This resulted in the loosest strings (C/E) constantly jumping out of their nut slots. Fixing this issue required the use of a nut file, to deepen them.- Loose gear meshing.Actually looser than the originals on the low-end uke, and I don’t think I need to point out the types of problems this causes. In summary, if you’re looking to replace machine heads on your soprano uke, you’d be well advised to look elsewhere. The price may make them seem like a bargain, but they’re poorly designed, questionably constructed, and certainly not as advertised.

These replaced the old beat up plastic tuning pegs on my KA-15S perfectly. I didn't have to do any new drilling, I simply screwed out the old beat-up pegs and screwed these in their place. However the first shipment this company sent me was missing most of the parts so I had to waste a bunch of time bringing the incomplete product back to a whole foods and waiting for a new shipment to arrive.

The absolute bare minimum quality. Poor tolerances, bad feel, somehow even smell bad? Get something better.
