I’d say these fit pretty true to size. We went up a size to help leave room for thick socks. Opening is wide which is helpful for fat toddler feet. I love the height for my sons shorter legs and the fact is has handles to help pull on is a must. These are very durable and will last a long time. They aren’t overly stiff either which is nice and makes walking easier. Would recommend! For reference we got size 5 for my 17 month old son who had pretty short but fat feet.
