I live in Texas. Needless to say it is extremely hot. I noticed my home wasn’t cooling late on a Saturday night. Went outside and the compressor fan wasn’t coming on but I could hear the compressor making a humming sound. Amazon overnighted this part to me. Easy install. Compressor fan came right on after install. My home is cooling again. Quick DIY inexpensive fix.

Competitively priced, arrived with prime 1-day shipping, and most importantly it worked as advertised, no issues. It perfectly replaced my genteq 97f9883 capacitor for less cost than the OEM Part. If you have 2 units, I recommend ordering 2 as my second unit failed almost a month after the first.

My 4 year-old outdoor A/C unit made some groaning noises and then the compressor refused to start on a 100 degree day (of course!).After having replaced the starting capacitor on the A/C at a previous house (also about 4 years old at the time it failed), this was my first guess as to what the problem might be. I measured both sides of the old capacitor after disconnecting the leads, and sure enough, the 45 microfarad side measured only 3.5.After checking the usual home stores on a Saturday night and finding nothing, I got on Amazon. I found this unit could be delivered the very next day, so I ordered it. From the time I ordered until it showed up at my door was less than 12 hours. Bravo Amazon!This capacitor fit quickly with no issues, and I had the compressor running quietly at full speed in less than 20 minutes. Interestingly, it draws about 1 amp less now, so bonus points for that on my next electricity bill.An expensive service call was avoided, and my family got cold air again quickly!

While installation did require the ability to read a schematic for the AC electrical system it was intuitive and saved me a bundle on repair costs.

This replaced a 370v capacitor, which was a smaller diameter. I had to fashion a new strap from sheet metal, then move the capacitor up about 1†and to the left maybe a 1/2†to get it to fit inside the cover/compartment.Trane XR model 4TTR3042D1000NA
