For the price, you get most if not all of the features of actual leathermans. did the penny cut test and passed, and I've been using them every day since I got them

I love Leatherman, but these are MUCH more economical and have 99% of the same functionality. I am not an EMT. If I was I would not compromise. But I am a CERT/SAR member. If my luck holds, I won't have to use them that much, but I trust them to work well for the little time I could use them. Vastly better than the ones that come in most first aid kits.If anything changes, I will be sure to update my review.

The product operates as intended, particularly after oiling as it came a tad stiff. These shears work. It takes a bit more effort than the Leatherman Raptor shears, but these cut.The strap cutter works. It doesn't work quite as well as the Leatherman Raptor strap cutter, but this one cuts straps. The Leatherman strap cutter locks into place with a liner lock. This one does not lock into place. The other difference is the sheath. The Leatherman sheath is a tad larger and will connect to larger belts. Also, the Raptor locks into place when inserted in an unfolded state into the sheath. These snap into place unfolded, but do not lock into place.Overall, are the Raptor upgrades worth the ~$65 difference in price? That's hard to answer. If I was an EMT, I'd go Leatherman. If I was someone who cut a bunch of straps for my job and wanted shears too, I'd go Leatherman.I am neither an EMT or a heavy strap cutter. I am a random citizen buying these shears for my car glove box in case of emergency. Hopefully, I never have to use this product. On a cost per use basis, I'd have to use the Leatherman three times to equal this product. From a risk perspective, this product might cost me one second at most in cutting time vs. the Leatherman. That's a trade off I am willing to take.

I have been in EMS for 8 years and have seen lots of colleagues with other more expensive types of sheers and these are equally as good if not better for 1/3 the price. I have purchase two so far, one for my duty belt and the other for my car.. great buy.

One can always use a good pair of shears but a 6 in 1 multi-tool is even better. Since I did not have any rings needing to be cut off, I cut through this penny with the shears and they are still sharp. It did not even leave any marks on it. That tells me this is made of good strong metal. I feel this is very will put together and should last me a good long while. It may be a knock off of a more well named brand and cost less but I think it is well worth it. I read a few negative reviews from people that had some issues but I did not see any of those issues here.
