Reliable standby. I've had and used a gammon reel on my plumb bobs for over 20 years now. These are great string lines for surveying and masonry work. The string does wear out eventually and recovering it from inside the reel can be a pain.

The old stand by. Durable, effective. I work in commercial construction, I'm hard on all my tools. This gammon reel is on my plumb bob, in my bags, everyday. They burn out eventually in that environment, but the value and versatility are worth every penny.

It works fine most of the time when I received mine it had a crack so I just glued it and made it work sometimes it comes apart not sure if it was the shipping company or the manufacturer error but I wasn’t to thrilled about it

It works perfectly cut there must be some quality control problems wherever its mad the plastic shell on mine looks like it started melting at some point.
