FX1 Roller Derby Skate Wheels 92A + Mini Bearings
The Bont FX1 is an ultra-lightweight, ultra-high-performance roller skate wheel. Super high rebound urethane combines with a unique mini bearing hub for fast acceleration and quick laterals.
The Bont FX1 wheel is great for roller derby or indoor rink skating. It is one of the only wheels on the market that uses the smaller 688 or 167 bearings rather than the traditional 608 skate bearing. This saves 12 grams per bearing and a whopping 192 grams (6.8oz) on a set of skates. That is a pretty huge weight saving. Not only that but mini bearings also spool up faster than 608 bearings getting you up to speed sooner.

HISTORY
Bont Skates was founded in Sydney in 1975 when Inze Bont, a recreational short track ice speed skater decided to fiberglass the back of his leather speed skates to gain more support. Bont quickly became the world's largest producer of ice speed skates and then branched out into inline speed skates, quad speed skates, roller derby skates, and long track speed skates. Bont was the first footwear manufacturer to use exotic material like fiberglass in 1974, Kevlar in 1986 and Carbon Fiber in 1989, and the first to use heat moldable resins and thermoplastics. Bont was also the first company to use adjustable ice blades and remains the world's largest producer of speed skates and custom speed skates.

These wheels are great for indoor skating. They have a good grip. Once installed on my roller skates, the wheels move freely which is a good sign that the bearing that come with the wheel are decent bearings. I'm not super crazy about the white only color of the wheels since they get dirty quickly and show a lot of the dirt. All in all, a pretty good purchase and a great upgrade of wheels from my older wheels.

These are great wheels! Keep in mind, they are on the softer side (92a) so they aren't the fastest indoors. But since I do a lot of outdoor skating, I'm used to a softer wheel anyway. I'll only be using these babies inside though since they are 92a's...The size is great too! I feel nice and stable on these and was zipping around the rink last week!I do plan on dying them at some point. I don't mind them being White but I know they're gonna be filthy in no time! I watched a couple videos and it seems pretty straightforward. Just make sure to use synthetic dye!

They are ready to pop onto your skates and get you going. I will be giving these a try for derby to see if I like the smaller wheel base than my current ones. They are white so they will get dirty pretty fast but I’ve heard dying white wheels is quite easy. So I might give that a try.Update: I tried them on our rink and I felt unstable. I was having a hard time going through my skills and drills with the new wheel hardness and smaller width. As soon as I switched them back to my usual derby wheels, everything was back to normal. I will probably give them another go to get used to the smaller wheels. It will take some time to adjust.

I was hesitant to order these because of the price; it seemed too good to be true. My husband ordered the same wheels and bearings through Bont and these seem legit.I love these wheels! They spin up quickly and are fast. They have the perfect amount of grip and will still slide a tiny bit when you want them to. I dyed them with Rit dye and they came out perfect. (I only left them in for about a minute because they absorbed the dye very quickly.) I've been skating on them for about a month at 2-4x/week and they still look great and are the best wheels I've had so far. (For reference: I was skating on RollerBones 98a before)

I was out of town and brought my skates with me because I knew I'd be going to a rink after SOOO long...but I had forgotten to switch my wheels from outdoor to indoor before I left. So now I have two sets of indoor wheels but these are my new favorites. Skate like the wind!

I put these on my Angel skates to be able to skate INDOORS they are great . They ride nice and smooth. I love them

The wheels are fine, nice and lightweight. Blue bearings were a huge disappointment. I replaced them right away with the tornado minis. What a difference
