Bosch supplied the world's first high-voltage ignition system in 1902 and has long been known for premium quality European ignition parts. Bosch also offers an equally superior line of ignition products for Asian cars and light trucks. Long recognized as an industry leader in ignition and fuel systems, Bosch's quality, innovation, and experience are the foundation of the entire line of engine management components.

Great fit and function. It still looks and works just like the originals from 20 years ago. I"m running this on my MKIII vw 2.0. I'll be buying these through amazon during my tune ups, as my local parts store wanted twice the price for a knock off brand.I work on friends vehicles every now and then and I insist they replace their cap, rotor and wires if they don't know when or if they ever have. It never fails to improve idle and their just overall vehicle condition. Better acceleration better MPG. If you don't get good clean spark to the plugs your engine will not run well.

Bosch made the distributor. only makes sense that their rotor would fit perfect. The alignment tooth inside does chip apart when you install and remove the rotor a lot so be careful about that. Otherwise works fine and no complaints.

Bought this for the mother in-law's 98 VW Jetta that was throwing multiple cylinder misfire codes. Before sinking money into an ignition coil as a lot of the forums threw out as a common fault, I took a spray bottle and misted the coil, cap, wires and engine top to see if I was getting any resentment from the car running as it had failed to stay running during driving in multiple rain storms. Unfortunately, I got no push back from the car during this test, even to the point where I tried taking off the sprayer on the bottle and dumping water straight onto the parts in question (I don't recommend this, but was getting annoyed with MIL grilling me over what I was doing).Research had shown that Bosch is a very common supplier of VAG original parts and a lot of people had reported great success and even found NGK as their original factory plug manufacturer. So, I decided to buy this Rotor, a Bosch 03368 Distributor Cap and a set of NGK G Power Spark Plugs.Installation was relatively easy, given you must be patient with nimble fingers to get the plus out without taking off upper manifold. All in all, it was a success and the engine codes disappeared.

I bought two of these. One for my 1984 Volvo 244 and my 1984 Volvo 245. The diameter of the hole is to small. Amazon said it was the right part. It obviously isn't. According to IPD there are two different sizes. Looks like the correct should be a Bosch 04138. Let's hope so.

Friends, in general BOSCH has gotten a little sloppy and careless about keeping the correct product numbers.i used a certain spark plug for example and they operated fine. When I contacted BOSCH they said it was not the correct spark plug while other bonafide parts suppliers said it was correct. The deal with this Rotor is the Shaft size. Bosch 04170 Ignition Rotor has a 10mm shaft and Bosch 04038 Ignition Rotor has a 14mm shaft. Oh no! the ignition's apart and find out the rotor is incorrect and you have to order another one. The parts I received from BOSCH were made in Spain. What happened to Germany like so many other companies outsourcing has become the new normal. Do your research and do not depend totally on BOSCH.
