This planer was good and served my purpose. I have not used other brands but this one was very fast and powerful to use. I used it to trim/shave off about 1/8" of wood in a few passes. The only thing not so good was the missing bolt and nut for the guard rail. I had to go to Bosch website to order the missing bolt and nut for about $10.

Very nice planer. Made a lot of job possible and much quicker being a cordless. Powerful enough even for harder woods.Have high capacity battery or you'll be swapping them often.NOTE: Due to nature of wood chips that a plainer produces the bag gets filled very quickly; has vacuum connection if one desires.

Bought to trim some used solid wood doors that I purchased. Worked perfect, just hook a shop vac to the discharge to catch all the shavings.

This little guy exceeded my expectations. The price and the somewhat flimsy guide bring it down to four stars. I'm not including the L-Boxx as part of this review or I would be dropping this down to 3.5 stars. The box itself is fine, but the "exact fit" inserts kind of suck.I've started purchasing kaizan foam to put in these L-Boxxes. It's not real cheap, but less expensive and more firm than the pick and pluck junk. The cheapest way I have found for the foam is to buy two 2x4 sheets for every three boxes. One sheet of the 1 1/8 and a sheet of the 2 1/4. Use the thin for the base and the thick for the tool cutout. If you don't mind split pieces of foam, you could actually do 4 or 5 boxes with two sheets.

I have had this for nine months. I have used makita and Bosch corded planers, both of wich have 2 blades as compared to the Bosch cordless having 1 blade . I have planned the studs in 3 basements. This cordless Bosch planer has plenty of power when paired with Bosch's Core18v 6.3ah battery but will bog down if pushed too hard, but believe me that will be hardly an issue because no would want to push a planerer that fast. The finish it leaves is finish grade.

I wasn’t even able to use this because once I received it, it was missing several parts. I have used this brand in the past and have always liked the quality and all of my other tools are this brand. I ended up re-packaging and sending it back for a refund. I was upset that I needed it on a time restraint and it came without the proper equipment to set it up. I think in the future I will just be buying tools directly from one of the hardware stores.

I like the portability of this unit; I was upset that I couldn't find an l-box insert tray to go with it.. Bosch needs to give better access for these systems

I've had a few months use on this tool now and have found it to be a well developed well built tool. My main use for it is while inastalling doors. I use it to plane the bottoms or sides to ensure a proper fit. The small channels cut into the foot plate of the planer allow me to bevel the edges of a freshly planed surface easily and back to a factory appearance. Other uses have been removing minor surface imperfecrions and installing cupboards. Not used every day but definitely the right, well constructed, well balanced, tool for the job.
