At work I got the opportunity to buy my own plier staplers for the boxes I was working on. The Bostich P6C surprised me by being an excellent stapler.Currently the only knock I have for it is that it cannot use Bostich 5019 1/2" staples, due to its reloading mechanism. This can cause a nasty jam - the sort that's difficult to clear due to the reloading mechanism. On the other hand, I would not have believed you could put two pieces of the heavy cardboard material we are using together with a 3/8" staple. Now I do.All plier types will have a heavy pull. But of the 3 I've used the P6C has the lightest pull - it does get a bit mushy at the end, but the tradeoff for comfort is worth it to me. The top loading mechanism works, and since the reloading spring doesn't separate from the plier it can't get lost. What would be nice is a witness hole that lets you spot if you need a reload - you can pull back and look down into the interior of the stapler but that takes time. The thing that it gets right though - the light pull - is probably the most important thing for a person assembling heavy material.

Bostitch makes a great staple here that doesn't seem to jam and has a smooth action. Gets through three or four layers of cardboard no problem. Hint: Great tool for making structures and masks from cardboard--especially this model with the bayonet/sword point end.
