Each bow tie is made of crape material, which consists of polyester fibers. Polyester is a synthetic fiber derived from coal, air, water, and petroleum. Metal clips are covered with plastic externally, it protects from rusting after wash. Loved this bow tie. Great quality. Beautifully made. I ended up returning it though because the color was a little too dark. They did not have a color that matched what I needed which was my only disappointment.
