From time to time I have been buying Boye's beginners Kit and was totally disappointed when I found the changes made to the kit....The kit Boye used to offer had size Number 8 Needles, measuring 7 1/2 Inches long and the beginner book. It was absolutely perfect!!! It was good for Beginner Knitters and so easy for little children to handle with their smaller hands!!This new kit while a very nice kit offering TWO pair of needles and lots of useful items doesn't have the small7 1/2 inche long needles....They made both teaching and learning sooo much easier!! Hope in the future they might again offer at least one pair of the smaller needles!!!!

This is a great beginners knitting book and DVD. I read the book all the way through within minutes of receiving this as a gift. I am just starting, but I am doing great (sounds like I'm bragging - which I am).Really is a wonderful book - it includes a variety of things you need to complete one of 18 different projects in the book. The value of the dvd, 2 pairs of knitting needles, gauge, etc. etc. is worth every penny I paid. Plus since it's a "real" book I get to share it with friends!!Thank you Boye for a great product!!

The DVD may be good for beginners but it was short. I expected a DVD to show different stitches. I also did not see if it was closed captioned. The book was overwhelming and hard to follow. The other languages offered made it too confusing.

My daughter and her daughter, my granddaughter, requested to learn to knit. I gave them a present of this instruction book and they are off and running with their new knitting hobby.

The only reason I gave this a 1 star is because when I opened the amazon pacakge it had a strong scent of perfume. I have COPD and strong scents bother me.

Great kit of "necessities" for a beginning knitter. I bought this as part of a gift for a family member just learning to knit. This contains basics to get anyone off to a good start.

I like the product. It helped me start the process of knitting. Liked the fact it came with a dvd because I'm mostly a visual person. Good product.
