I don't know what you say about a caliper press besides the fact that it works. It came in good and it's heavy duty and it's going to do what it says it's going to do. As you can tell just by looking and messing around with it. Good quality, easier than using a C clamp. I got the T shape style. It is very nice that it comes with caliper hangers to help save your brake lines, The gloves are thin and cheap, but I didn't buy this for the gloves. It is easy to use, just leave the brake pads on the caliper and put this spreader between the 2 pads and crank the handle to expand. It worked with dual piston calipers too, but you have to make sure you keep both brake pads on the caliper. Good quality and value for about $14 and I would recommend it to friends and family.

This tool is a big step up from the many makeshift tools I have used in the past. Makes changing the brakes much easier and safer. I wish it was a little more heavy duty but for occasional use around the garage, it will do great. For this price, it is a good value and a handy addition to my tool box.

Didn’t work that good. The big plate bent when pushed too hard. Wouldn’t buy again.

The spreader plates on this tool are thick and sturdy, and the larger plates are easily attached and held in place with magnets. The ratchet mechanism and handle are not so solid. They should hold up for occasional use, but I'm not so sure about frequent use in a professional environment. It's a handy tool and certainly better than a C-clamp for compressing brake pistons.

I ordered this and it arrived quickly, just in time to help with my son’s old SRX brake job. The magnetic plates work well on the large two piston front caliper, albeit a bit clumsy to get in place without falling off. My only complaint is I had to kind of manually size it to fit snug enough to get the ratchet to catch - there’s nowhere I found to hold with my finger to ratchet to size to before it was wedged in. It’s a minor issue compared to my old c-clamp technique or the way overly complicated multi size brake caliper compression kit. This is well woth the money!
