I don't like the stand much, but it is still ok.

I did not like the sound this made. There was no vibration.

This is nice for a decorative piece, but upon close inspection the design seems rushed and the materials not as nice as they could be.The string that holds the plate suspended could easily have been designed as two different cords, one attached to each hole in the plate - but it's a single cord, so the plate easily slides back and forth, ending up unevenly centered, which to me is just a shortcut taken that with a tiny bit of extra effort could have avoided an annoying problem that lowers the overall quality of the item. The plate itself is thin and when struck with the mallet, gives off an unsatisfying, high-pitched note. Sounds nothing like a gong. Of course I didn't expect the deep, resonating tone that a larger gong would have provided, but if the plate were thicker, higher quality, it would have been better than what this one does.Overall - it looks pretty. If you don't actually try to use it, or inspect it too closely, it will add to the mood of the decor, but I can't give it more than three stars based on visual appearance alone.
