Ordered this for my dad for fathers day and it was fantastic the overall ease of use and instructions were great, I never tried to make beer before so I was new to the process however my dad was well versed but even I could make delicious beer with this. I would give it 10 stars especially for the customer service, I had an issue with the spigot not having a perfect seal and they sent me one the day after I informed them with an extra spigot.

It's more time consuming than I expected, but it's pretty easy and my hubby is having a blast with the gift. The only issue we found was that the bottle caps can only be used once! There is nothing on the manual about it, and our second batch came out a bit stale. Further, we learned that if we leave the beer brewing for 2 instead of 1 week, it comes out better and cleaner.... just don't forget to get extra bottle caps right away!

Comes with three separate malt extracts to fool around with, and get the hang of 1gal brewing. I have done 1gal, 2gal, 5gal brewing and there are recommended differences in the procedures. The 1gal procedures involve a more limited amount of water and more precise boil times (water loss), and produce a limited amount of very good beer. These kits that come with are 1 can only, the hops are in it (you can see it in the fermenter) and the product quite satisfying, depending on your tastes, of course. The clear fermenter with wide mouth is easy to clean, the spigot makes bottling a snap, and you can watch the progress of the fermentation first hand. Highly recommended!
