I will echo comments from others. This is a good product, reasonably priced. The electric cord is thick for outdoor use. Packaging was good—bulbs come protected in Styrofoam; none was broken, all worked and 4 extras were included. Bulbs are clear and incandescent. Note that these are 5-watt bulbs. A string of 100 provides soft illumination for a 25 x 25’ area, enough to eat by but not read a book. You cannot combine strings because there’s no female receptacle at the end. If unsure whether 50 feet is sufficient, go with 100 feet because more illumination is better than too little. Some specific suggestions:1. Plan in advance how you want to arrange the lights. Creating equal triangles overhead provides more even illumination than perimeter lights. Hang at a height which allows you to replace bulbs easily.2. If spanning a long distance, install a guide wire first and then hook the string of lights onto it. That way the guide wire carries the weight, not the electrified string, and sagging is minimized. Use galvanized steel wire or stainless steel cable.3. Hang the string FIRST before putting bulbs in. That gives you the chance to adjust the lengths and move hardware (eye hooks and J hooks) without jostling the bulbs. Orient the fixtures downward to keep out rain.4. Wear rubber gloves (Playtex) when installing bulbs so you have a good grip. This is the most delicate part of the process so take your time and screw in snugly but not tight; bulbs are delicate.5. Only then should you power up the string. If a bulb does not illuminate, try another bulb; that solved the issue for six of mine that didn’t work initially. If bulbs still don’t work, lift the copper contacts on the inside of the fixture ever so slightly.

These are beautiful. Very bright and the string is long enough for any patio.

I’ve had these lights for a few years, and so this review is based not upon the “honeymoon phase,†which often accompanies newly purchased products, but rather upon long-term use. That said, let’s dive in:The Good:* They are aesthetically pleasing.* The light emitted by the strand as a whole is bright enough to light up any space without casting too harsh of a glow.* Replacement bulbs are relatively inexpensive (a box of 25 C7 globe replacement lights on Amazon is less than $13).The Bad:* These bulbs are EXTREMELY fragile. Think chicken-with-a-calcium-deficiency-eggshell fragile. If you breathe on them wrong, they are going to shatter. These would *not* be a practical choice for outdoor use (I sincerely doubt they’d hold up under the force of a stiff breeze or a heavy rain). We purchased these with the intention of putting them up outdoors, but it quickly became apparent that they would not be able to withstand any sort of weather. We ended up using them in our library.* The bulbs burn out very quickly, so ordering replacements is a must.* My set did not come with a remote.Pro Tip:* Hang the light string FIRST, and then add the bulbs…if you don’t, the bulbs are so fragile that they shatter if they happen to gently clink against the chord, each other, or the ground (even gentle contact with any of these surfaces will shatter them). To “sum upâ€:I cannot recommend this light string…not only are the bulbs too fragile to be employed in any practical setting, but they burn out so quickly. The quality control is also questionable, considering that the remote was missing.

The style, length, and shape of the lights are what we were looking for. Just are not as bright as we had hoped. looks good and works well. We have them on a photo cell outside and no problems yet.

I bought these after managing to destroy our glass bulbs while setting them up on our new patio. Almost immediately while trying to set these new lights up I pulled them off their mount and they fell to the ground but all the bulbs survived. They provide a decent amount of illumination and really look great. My only complaint is I wish they were just a smidge longer but that's a minor complaint.

I love these for my small patio! They are so bright and have a warm light so i can sit outside and hang out. I had extra length so I just unscrewed the unseen bulbs to where they were not on which worked great. Had to order separate zip ties because my railing is wider than average. Came with a few spare bulbs and fuse as well. I used to plug them in before dark and then unplug them in the morning for a good while but then I just kept them on 24/7 for the past 3 months and they are still holding up in this colder weather and indirect rain.

These are really nice outdoor lights. I wrapped them around the balcony and they look nice. All bulbs work and the length is perfect for my needs. Would recommend

Love these lights. Lightweight, easy to install and just need to plug in. Tried solar to save energy but lights were always falling down and would not stay lit. Like these ones much better.
