It is very sturdy and rolls well. There is enough room for two sets of tracks so you can transfer things from one rail line to another train. This is definitely a fun accessory to any of the wooden track / train sets.

We bought this crane as an addition to a train set our grandson got for Christmas. He is almost four years old and quickly learned how to operate it and is having fun using it. Highly recommend for imaginative play.

We love Brio. We were in our 70’s with first grandchild. We tried everything to entertain him. At about 1 year old he was wearing us out. I bought a folding Life table that could lower to his height and a starting set of a Brio train with tracks but kept the people till he was older. We set the table parallel to the couch; him on one side & us on the other. He never wanted to sit down but now we could!!! Best thing I ever bought. He was Thrilled! As he grew we raised the table & bought more Brio sets. He’d set up whole towns with houses. He is 6 and just graduated to electric trains and his 2 yr. old brother got his old Brios. Sometimes he still goes back and gets his Brios out.

My child loves it, I am mixed.Pros:-well constructed: solid arms and leg. Also crane is designed such that no matter which way you turn the crank, the lift moves in an up or down direction. Basically, you can't break it by over tightening or loosening it.-Cargo box is pretty cool (but doesn't fit on Brio cargo boat)-It does support (barely) two tracks side by side between the legs.Cons:-Kind of big and hard to store.-It is hard to get it positioned to transfer loads. It feel more designed specific track designs or trucks.

I bought this as a supplement to a Brio train set I have for my granddaughter. It's a great addition. Because it goes over the track (rather than be attached to it), she can move it anywhere she pleases. The magnetic lift works with all of the magnetized pieces of rolling stock. Even at 2-1/2, my granddaughter can easily work the crank that winds the lifting piece up and down.

I have purchased many BRIO products for a little boy! He LOVES to receive my BRIO GIFTS! His parents acquired a train table for these products where he can put together the tracks and play with the trains andBRIO accessories. I began gifting this child with BRIO trains since his 2nd birthday. I enjoy observing him play and I see him connecting the tracks, and putting together the magnetized trains to go across the tracks. It is a toy that helps his coordination & imagination to develop further. We have so much fun when I visit and get to observe his play. BRIO is a quality product.
