EDIT x 3: I'm leaving my edits up because I'm a moron, and I need to be shamed for this. My original fan was on it's way out (very old), so I bought a replacement. It stopped working after a week so I returned it. New fan came and it stopped working after one day. As you can tell by the edits, I was super ticked. Then I started thinking....it might be the switch and not the fan. So I pulled the switch from the wall, and low and behold the wire connected to the switch was loose and came off. I tightened the wire to the switch. Fan works great. I'm an idiot. You can shame me now.EDIT x 2: Received replacement, and the fan didn't last one day. Returning again. This is ridiculous.EDIT: Fan quit working one week after install. Ordered another one. Lets see what happens.Replaced item #99110872A (old fan)This replaced the Broan fan after the motor stopped working. Easily installed it, and is a little quieter than the old one. I'll update the review if it quits on me.

At first, the fan did not operate. I had to slide the fan to the end of the spindle, then it worked. Installation was easy and the fan is pretty quiet.

This is a OEM replacement part, so it fits well. These exhaust fans are builder model items, so they wear quicker than higher quality fans. Hence the reason for the 4 stars. They are what they are.

great replacement fan set up, easy install, bolted right in and the plug was just the right length. the only drawback is its only 0.9 amps versus the original 4.5 amps. so because of that, it does not draw as much airflow so you might have to leave it for a little longer. for the price, I will buy again when the next one wears out. I have these in two bathrooms but the old ones made between 20 and 22 years so if these go that long I will consider that good.will it is 4/30/18 and this fan is now making the same grinding noise the old one made. guess its time to buy another one at least we got about three years out of it. we use it a lot because it is in the main bathroom everyone showers in. sometimes it gets left on all day because either we forget or its left on because we went to work or school.

The good news is: It fits, easy to install into the Broan 164 and you don't have to throw the rest of a new unit away. The bad news is: It costs the same as buying a whole new unit, it's the same relatively weak fan. It'd be nice if one could buy a turbocharged version of the fan replacement that'd do maybe 120 CFM or sumpthing. But that would probably require balancing the fan on the shaft and making sure that it didn't wobble when spinning. Hard to do in these profit driven times I reckon.

The original lasted more than 10 years. The first replacement lasted more than 5 years. Ordered this one and paid extra to hopefully get oem quality but it is done in 5 months,. Must be counterfit.
