I am pleased I purchased this fan with light for my toilet closet (about 3' x 5'). It moves the air, the light is very good, and the noise is not nearly as obnoxious as the fan it replaced. I just finished the installation, but initially at least it has every appearance of being very well-made. Everything fits together nicely, all the parts were there, it was packaged well so no shipping damages, & the instructions are satisfactory. HOWEVER, some reviews have said this fan can be installed from the room side without going into the attic -- I heartily disagree. If you have attic access, it would, I think, be reasonably easy to install. But I had no attic access -- my installation was in the first floor ceiling, between joists that support my second floor. It was a bear to do without attic access. There are some other makes / models that say they can be installed from the room-side only -- I have my doubts. Be sure to pull down their installation instructions and read them carefully before purchase, if that is your situation.

Fan works very well and is super quiet. Only wish light was adjustable and not so warm. I will say, the fan cover is a pain in the rear to put on however, once it’s in, it tight and snug.

Broan has a huge share of this market space so it’s puzzling why they can’t design a better way to attach the cover on this product. I like everything else about this fan - the quality, performance, and all but the last step of the installation process, but snapping those pesky retaining springs in place was a headache for me. They continually popped out of the little jaws that hold them onto the cover frame, to the point where I had to file a groove around the jaws and wire them shut around the springs. Only then would the springs clip on without detaching from the cover.

The Broan-NuTone AE80LK is an intriguing ventilation fan. Its 80 CFM rating effectively tackles moisture issues in most bathrooms, while the CleanCover grille boasts minimal dust collection and easy cleaning. Installation from the room side is a DIYer's dream, especially with the SnapFit flange and FoldAway mounting ears. However, the advertised "whisper quiet" operation falls short. My decibel meter clocked the AE80LK at 1.2 sones, exceeding the 0.7 sone spec and bordering on noticeable in a quiet bathroom. While not deafening, it's a hum you'll register. The noise originates primarily from the motor, with minimal blade noise. This suggests potential for improvement through motor isolation or acoustic dampening in future iterations. On the upside, the integrated LED light is surprisingly bright and energy-efficient. The AE80LK is a technically sound ventilation fan with some acoustic compromises. If noise sensitivity isn't a significant concern, it's a solid choice for efficient bathroom ventilation with modern conveniences. However, alternative options might be worth exploring for those seeking whisper-quiet operation.

I've had this light for 2 years now and am just now writing a review. The light has worked perfectly with no problems at all.

This was a retrofit of a 30 year old NuTone that had gotten very noisy. After removing the old one, the install of the metal box was straightforward. For some reason they use black wires for both the fan and the light, and of course I got them wrong the first time. To check, plug the light into its socket before you install the fan. I also found that the wires were rubbing on the fan housing making a clicking sound- I had to move them a bit and then taped them in place. Check for this prior to final assembly. Then the cover. The clips are nearly impossible to use- they are short and when you get one side on it will pop off when you try the other. It literally took me a half an hour to get the cover on. Then I discovered that the cover didn’t quite cover the existing hole. Missed by a few mm’s. I can’t wait to take the cover off, fill the gap and spend an hour putting it back on!All that said, it is very quiet and the light is great. Just takes a lot more time than it should to install.

Somewhat difficult to install & takes longer than expected to clear the humidity on a timer (our bathroom is roughly 6' x 8' including tub area). The added light from the fan is great!

I wanted a new ceiling fan to go with my newly renovated bathroom. I am so sorry that I switched. This fan is incredibly loud and the light is not that bright. Luckily I have another light that I can rely on. It is definitely not worth the price that is being charged. The overall install was straight forward.
