I very rarely write reviews, but this printer deserves one. I have had many printers over the years. This is my first color laser printer and it is fantastic. It works wirelessly with my PCs, Mac, and even the Chromebook and our iPhones. The setup was super easy. I just let it join my WiFi network and it shows up in all my devices. What can I say. I love this printer.

In the past, printer setup has been a nightmare, so I've been avoiding getting a new one. Finally bit the bullet and went with this model because my old Brother monochrome has run great for 8 years.Network connection was astonishingly easy. Brother wants you to use their app to set the thing up, but I didn't want to bother with that and just did it manually. With my big sausage fingers on a small touch screen, it took about a minute to connect to wifi. Our computers (Macs) and phones found the printer immediately and it was off to the races. The first few print jobs look great and there were no hiccups along the way.Granted, this review comes after only a couple hours of use, but so far I'm very pleased.

We got this printer back in January. Having and using a Brother HL3040CN for years which was great until they didn't make cartridges anymore that we could get. We bought this one with high hopes. We use the printer for some color pages & some black & white invoices, but we also print a lot of envelopes. The cartridges that come with the printer were virtually empty. We printed about 60 business envelopes before the Black cartridge ran out and had to replace it. Then without ever printing a color page (except for the first test page to setup the printer) the color cartridges started to run out. Even though we were only printing Black & White the printer locks up until the color cartridge is replaced. Within 2 weeks all 3 color cartridges were empty without being used. Costly to say the least. Also, the printer mangles envelopes. Every envelope comes out with creases down the back of the envelope. There is no way to straighten this out. No adjustments you can make. It also takes forever to get it to start & load an envelope. Then forever to start to print the next envelope. They should go back and look at the design for the HL3040CN so they can design a better printer. All in all, the worst printer we've ever bought & we've had at least 9 different printers in the last 31 years.UPDATE!! We now have had this printer for 10 months. I print about 20 to 30 envelopes a week. My wife printed 1 recipe in color about 2 months ago but now the printer says the Yellow Toner is EMPTY!! The printer shuts down and is unusable. Now I can't use it until I buy another set of color toner cartridges because as what happened the last time the others will show up to be empty also.

Works well. Fast printing with double sided duplex built in. At times does not wakeup to print from wireless network connection. Have to turn off and back on to get to print.

I'm loving this printer so far. Easy to set up on all the windows and mac computers in the house. Easy to print from iPhones (if just a tad bit slower than I'd expect...). I have it set up with ethernet and the printer is discovered immediately every time I've printed. Really impressed and glad I didn't listen to some of the reviews that had issues with connectivity/etc because this is miles better than my last HP printer!

I bought this to replace my Lexmark printer which lasted 5 years before the imager unit burned out. I chose Brother because they have great Linux support and drivers, and setting it up was fairly easy, however I have one caviat - if you want to set this up as a network printer, and you run a VPN on your computer, remember to disconnect from the VPN before you attempt to set it up, or your computer will never be able to find it!Otherwise, it's a very good quality unit, and I like the way it's designed - simple to replace toner cartridges and opening for paper jams, etc. I anticipate getting many years of use out of this printer!

After many years my previous laser printer took a dive. I replaced it with a inkjet model. It wasn’t really bad but only lasted a year +. And of course I had the expense of replacing the inkjet ink more often than I wish that I had to. But with this one I get much better quality and after severalMonths I’m still using the first set of ink cartridges. This printer was incredibly easy to link to my numerous devices and has never lost connection to any of them. This is a blessing for me because my wife gets easily frustrated when electronics challenge her. It my opinion that the extra cost of laser bs inker is easily offset by the ease and confidence of performing when I need it. And although print speed isn’t important to me because I use it in my home, it prints quickly and is, of course, much quieter than any inkjet can possibly be.

I have heard that Brother printers don't do as good a job at printing pictures. I tried printing a color picture on regular paper and it looked like most do, nothing spectacular. They don't play games with printing supplies like HP does. I will never buy another HP printer. It was easy to install. I purchased a Cannon printer but had to take it back because the installation was not working. I had this printer installed in 30 minutes.I did not want phone installation. I don't print from my phone. That was not a problem. The cannon installation was only phone and would not let me just use desk top computer.

Me decepcionó la calidad de impresión. Sobre todo en colores lisos. Como pueden ver salen rayas. En el gris sale una raya rosa y en la segunda se perciben otras de color gris más fuerte. Es nueva, no se supone que debe hacer eso.
