Bought in March 2024. Writing review in December 2024.I regularly need color copy for my job that won't run if it gets wet out at a job site. After reading a lot about printers on Linux forums, I decided to go with the Brother brand. This thing is a workhorse. I've only had 1 jam since I bought it and it was in the summer months when the paper may have been a bit humid. Other than that, no issues. It prints way faster than deskjet type printers and like I said doesn't run if the page gets wet like deskjet printouts do. I use it with my self-built Linux system. Primary use is color printing. Also do color copying. Haven't used the other features yet. Wifi works fine. Prints from phone or tablet (apple and android) as easily as from desktop PC. Pretty easy to set up on Linux for my needs. We are work-from-home here and my boss likes it so much that he also bought one for his house after being a deskjet user for years.Added bonus, we enjoy doing puzzles. Some puzzles do not come with the poster, so I take a photo and print it on the color printer. Comes out nice and crisp. Not as bright or well defined as the glossy artwork on the puzzle boxes since I'm using plain copier paper. I haven't tried getting any kind of glossy paper to see if that makes a difference. I may have to source some glossy paper and try that out next.Works well with generic cartridges which is a plus. Read reviews on those before buying though, just in case any particular brand has issues. Get the XL version, more pages per cartridge.

I tested a lot of machines, including HP machines, many of which are going out of stock, but are still being sold because HP is getting out of a certain line of printer business – buyer beware and look it up if you don’t believe me – and I finally settled on this mid priced monster of a machine, which works perfectly fine despite its really heavy weight. This is a very solid laser printer that is not particularly speedy, but is incredibly solidly built and easy to set up. Its software interface is pretty clunky. It’s software interface is pretty clunky. It must be said and they haven’t spent a lot of time or tech To make it more user attractive, unlike HP, which has very good printer software – but then again they tried to use it by trapping you to use their cartridges, only which is not the case with Brother - And that is where HP got in trouble. The print rate is a bit slow, but again very consistent. On the whole you got the impression this thing is built to last. No problems so far. Time will tell. Other printers are much lighter, including the outgoing HP models which they are winding down, but those were very thin and lightly built - I refer to the ink jet models and their 9000 series Better for college kids than small businesses whereas this is certainly built to last for smaller businesses I would say.

One of the best All in One printer I have ever seen. It made my life easy with scanning copying and printing very easily with the app. Less paper jam, super easy to connect with phone and computer. Weight is sturdy and worth the money spent, actually cheaper than other similar printers. Super happy to have this.

I've had a Brother monochrome laser printer for some 15 years or so and it has performed better than any other printer I have ever used. Naturally, when I needed a color laser printer, Brother was my first choice. Most of the reviews were excellent and it is rated "Amazon's Choice", so presumably most of these function quite well. This one performed poorly out of the box. The description claimed that it is "network ready". I never could get it to work over a network, neither wirelessly nor with an ethernet connection. It only worked with a USB cord (not included, of course, but this is pretty standard with printers for some reason) as a local printer. Picture quality was barely acceptable. The included toner was gone in no time. The biggest problem, though, was the paper feed. When I first loaded the printer with paper, I got an alert to put paper in the tray. The tray had plenty of paper in it. I tried adding some paper, but still got the alarm, so I began looking online for why this might be. One owner said that he had to update the firmware, so I set the printer to search for new firmware. Sure enough, there was new firmware available, so I installed it. I still got the same alert. Other users said reducing the amount of paper would help, so I tried that. Once I got the paper level down to about 30 sheets, it picked up the first sheet and continued to print until the paper was gone. It turns out that this is an issue with spring tension that sometimes occurs after several years of heavy use. While it seems this is not an uncommon problem with printers of several brands, clearly this is NOT an issue that should be present in a new machine. My suspicion is that this machine was not in fact new, but maybe one of the "Save with used - like new!" printers touted within the description.I figured this should be no problem since the printer is "Eligible for Return" according to its description. Now, I have used Amazon for over 20 years and have returned perhaps five products. In every case, the seller paid the return shipping. Every case until this one, that is. They sent me a shipping label to return it, but postage was required. A LOT of postage. According to the description, the weight is 49.5 pounds. Nope - 59 pounds according to the post office scales. It cost over $210 to ship this back to the seller. I complained about this, but never received a reply. Weeks later, my refund was issued - MINUS a $230.40 restocking fee!I'm not unreasonable - I understand how a faulty product can get past anyone. But when this happens, a reputable business will do what it takes to make things right. I am quite disappointed with this seller. The printer was returned because it was defective, not because it didn't match my drapes. Ultimately, I did end up buying a similar Brother color laser printer and I am quite happy with it. But I certainly did not purchase it from this seller. Clearly the great reviews are from people who didn't have to experience their return policy.

A very good printer in every sense of the word, with wonderful colors. It is easy to use and fast. I use it at work and it has helped my children a lot in printing especially if the student needs to print coloring drawing papers. Its size is suitable for the room. I highly recommend it.

I purchased this printer to replace two old tired monochrome laser printers built by "another company". I have sporadic printing needs, including colour, and have found that ink jets tend to have problems when they aren't used regularly. My work computers run Ubuntu Linux and getting the printer up and running with them was simple, including both printing and scanning. The Brother drivers that are automatically loaded in Ubuntu 24.04 (latest version) work without a hitch. No problems with the wifi connection either.I really appreciate the printer managing its firmware updates on its own, so that I don't have to hunt them down - the control panel just indicates when an update is ready to install. The print quality seems great. I haven't tried printing on glossy paper, but certainly the plain paper quality is more than fine. The sheet feeder on the document scanner works without a hitch. In sum, I'm super happy to have made the decision to acquire this printer. Highly recommended, and I would buy another.

Product is good as advertised, I find cartridges replacement are cheap which is good for me. It took longer than expected to arrive but it wasnt the sellers fault. As soon as they were aware of the issue, they reached out to me and offered to help me however they could.
