I bought this in September to make for my daughter who will be almost 8 months old at Christmas. It is a very time consuming project - I wish I had made it when pregnant instead of now when I'm caring for my very mobile baby! - but very user-friendly to do. It is literally a sew-by-number project. You do need to purchase a bag of filler (such as polyester fiberfill) to stuff the different parts of it to give it the 3-D effect. Some sewing knowledge is needed - I would say that you should definitely know applique and satin or split stitches at the very least. (The directions say to use satin stitch, but I have trouble with that so I used split stitch instead and it turned out beautifully.) To make sure that this was totally usable, I applique stitched red flannel to the inner sides so that any treats from Santa wouldn't inadvertently rip the stitches out. I also added a 1-inch band of fabric around the edge so that it has a bit more depth to it. (see pictures.) Overall, it has turned out absolutely beautifully. Love it, and will be making more of these for my husband and any future babies that I may have!

I made this one for my beautiful grandniece. I think it will grow with her. It is sweet and beautiful. I hope she cherishes it. It took about 40 hrs. Totally worth it

I completed two stocking years ago, now need two more and was thrilled kits were still available. They are beautiful and relaxing to work on. Beginners may find overwhelming but following steps will give you a wonderful finished project. Don't hesitate to try completing this kit

I’m a beginner. If I have questions about what I’m doing, I Youtube it. This is a beautiful stocking and I’m enjoying making it for my daughter. I’ve got about 40 hours in it and still have a way to go to finish it, but I think it can be done before Christmas. Its foolproof if you follow the directions. It is a beautiful pattern and the materials are quality. .....it’s finished! It took 9 months working on it in spare time. It’s very beautiful. Pictures don’t do it justice. As you can see, I didn’t add the last holly touches along the left side. I wish I had extra felt to line it with.

This is a message written by my daughter:I bought this stocking for my mom as a Christmas present. It took me longer that I thought to have it done, and, even though, I had to make some changes because there were some instructions I couldn't figure them out in the manual... I really love how it looks. My mom was really happy and that is priceless.

Lovely stocking, I love Bucilla kits! This one in particular helped perfect the French knot which I’ve always had a very hard time with. A good kit to help pass time and a beautiful holiday stocking to add to your collection for years and years to share with family and loved one during the holidays.

I've made a large number of this type of stockings over the years. every family member has on. We've had a an adult male addition to the family so had to do one for him.I wasn't too sure about the colours initially , but it turned out lovely. He loves it.
