When this arrived the hardware was spilled all over inside the box. Luckily all of the pieces were found in all the Styrofoam holes and cracks. The bracket that the motor sits on arrived bent. I straightened it out with a hammer and a block of wood so it would line up with the base plate.Once past those initial hiccups, the unit performs well. Plenty of suction for my bandsaw, planer, lathe and other shop tools. The input adapter has plastic grid that catches anything larger than dust. The hose clogged immediately while using my drill press to augur our a 2" hole with a forstner bit. I clipped the grid off of one side and it performs much better. There is also an exit grid on the 6" side. I had a piece of plastic get stuck in there and every time it was shut off it fell back to the impeller.I will eventually reconfigure this unit and add a cyclone on it to eliminate most of these issues with the design. Most similar dust collectors have the same "safety" features that make them less than user friendly. The bag also leaves a fine dust, but that is expected at 5 micron. A dust mask is still required. The pole supporting the dust bag tends to lift out and fall as the bag is deflating after use. A couple of zip ties help to keep this from happening.Overall a good unit. Nice to see full 6" ports instead of 5" .

I've been using my shopvac for dust collection for a couple of years now. It was great and didn't really matter because I had a router and a miter saw hook to it. And then I got a planer... and everything changed. You can go through some vacuum bags really quick with a planer... if you didn't already know. This thing has been a life saver for me. It works great for dust collection on everything. You really need to hook this directly to your wall, though, and you better have a 20 breaker installed because this thing requires some definite electricity to function. It's also loud. I'm not sure I was prepared for how loud it can be. Now, it's really not that much louder than my big shopvac, but it's just loud enough for me to be like, "wow, okay..." before you try to figure out which far corner of the shop you want to push it into.Assembly was easy enough. It took me a little longer than the instructions suggested, but that's mainly because every nut and bolt came in the same bag, unsorted, so a fair portion of the extra time was sifting through parts.Over all, I think this is a great dust collector and is at a great price. I absolutely recommend this!
