CONCLUSIONS: 100% recommended. These are well-made stainless steel (magnetically tested) clip-on nuts that will let you place a nut where you need it and a rivnut, solder, welding, or epoxy attachment won't work. These are versatile and can be placed or moved to suit your purpose. If you only use them once to fix something where nothing else worked, they paid for themselves. I am happy I ordered these.TESTING: There was a full count of 25 pieces in the package. No shortchanging. They are uniformly made. The flat edges are smooth and will not cut you. The threads in the nuts are properly cut and a 1/4-20 bolt turns smoothly in an out without excess wiggle or looseness. The spring that holds the clip in place will grasp material as thin as eight sheets of typing paper. I did not test for the maximum size. As shown in the photo, your ability to place the clip is not limited to the edge of your material, so it is very versatile. I especially like these because, if you make a mistake in placing your hole or nut, you can just move it over and drill a new hole in the material for the bolt to go through to reach the nut. An extremely useful addition to any hardware arsenal.

These clips are the greatest thing ever if you need to attach metal panels together at the edge, secure fenders to a subframe, or to securely attach cover panels inside your car's wheel arches or on the underside of the body. Since they have machine threads, you can take the joint apart and put it back together repeatedly without stripping holes like would happen with screws. These eventually rust out on older vehicles and leave things flapping around that should be fastened together. The parts store sells them in small packages for a lot more money, I'd much rather get this 25-pack for and pay a lot less per piece. These feel like they have some sort of smooth plated coating on them, but it's not black oxide like most of the factory ones. Hopefully, they will hold up to the elements as well as the OEM parts.

I recently bought skinny fenders for my Jeep. At the same time I bought aluminum inner fenders to replace the stock ABS plastic inner fenders. The mistake I made was that I bought the fenders and the inner linings from two different vendors. First I had to trim the edges of the inner fenders because they protruded from behind the new fenders. The next problem was that none of the factory mounting holes lined up with the inner fenders. Yet another blow to my installation was that when the inner fenders were in place, there was no way to position nuts behind them. Then I found these mounting clips on Amazon. I simply had to drill a 5/16†hole where I wanted to put them. Then I painted the hole to stop corrosion. Then I pushed these on top of the hole (I admit to whacking a few with a rubber mallet) Then I used two dozen ¼†stainless steel screws and Voila! My fenders and inner fenders are finally mounted!I could not have completed this task without these Nut Mounting Clips.I recommend them!

I needed to remove a couple of covers on a 10 year old compactor. It had spent most of its life outdoors and the fasteners were seized to the clips which broke during disassembly. I'm hoping these along with stainless bolts will save the next guy some headaches. The quality is there for a reasonable price ($8.99 at time of review).

I work on cars & seems to find uses for these all the time. Great for when a hole strips out or adding a retainer somewhere. 1/4-20 is a very common size. They seem well made & the threads are clean.
