These were purchased as a gift in April and installed in May. They stayed loose and wiggly, constantly needed tightening all the time. This jeep only is used to go to school and back (15 mins from our house). Even though they were tightened regularly they still wiggled until the main pin fell out. Now it’s held with zip ties until we purchase him a better brand. Extremely disappointing. They were easy to install but the durability is a huge negative. Even though they looked nice, they aren’t functional-able if they fall apart!

These look great. However, they are metal and it seems like a lot of opportunity to scratch paint when latched or unlatched. I am just being super careful when opening the hood so that I lay them down gently. Also when they are latched it seems like they are very close to the hood(like barely able to fit a business card in between). I had to adjust to prevent them from touching the hood while latched. I am just not sure how any vibration is going to affect it.

The ONLY positive thing is they look nice. Everything else is negative. The installation instructions are junk and don’t even match what is actually in the box for hardware. For example, look at the pictures from the instructions as well as the actual product. There is NO adjustment bar to adjust the tightness. The holddown latch mounted to the hood has an oblong slot where you can adjust them slightly. I’d still like them tighter however. The list of components lists several gashets (their spelling, not mine) that don’t even exist. The instructions tell you to take off a part of the OEM latch that doesn’t exist on my 2003 TJ. When secure, the latch actually rests against the paint of the hood. I had to go to the hardware store and purchase some weather stripping to put on the hood to keep the latch from hitting. Unless you want a lot of frustration DO NOT buy this item! I’m returning this junk.
