12 gauge steel and strong. I bent another shovel, this thing is well done and fairly light weight. Great shooter shovel for trenching and planting and anything going into tough soil.

I picked up 5 of these to let my men try them out. After seeing the advertised video it seemed to be just what I have been looking for. We do underground communications work and are very hard on hand tools.Hands down these long handled sharp shooters are exactly what we need. They are slightly heavier than others due to the wood handle core but that benefits when digging in hard ground. Thus far I’ve had zero complaints as well zero bent/broke shovels.I’ve been counting the days before one of the crews brings one back in broken because I told everyone these shovels should not break. As of now, that’s statement holds true. The best thing about this Brand is that it is American Made! I will be ordering more as soon as I can and will be passing around the Bully Tools name to all other contractors that I know.Thank you for a quality tried and true product!!

I guess a shovel could be bad. This one is good. Seems to be well made. It's not as if it could not fit well or be the wrong color! I wanted one to go deep when digging for transplanting and the spade part on this is long enough. It feels heavy to me but then I am 5"1' and 70+ years old so everything is heavy! As I said in the title.....it's a shovel.

Drain spades are my shovel of choice for many digging choresI use them for digging plants, digging trenches, finding leaksI have had Craftsmen drain spades for years and they gradually got cheaper and more light weight, but they have a Lifetime warrantee so whenever I would bend one (every few years) I just went to Sears and got another. But since K-mart bought them Sears and Craftsmen have been going rapidly downhill. They way they have gotten out from under all the various Craftsmen lifetime warrantees is to simply stop selling the tools. That became the case here so I looked around for another source.I had bought another Bully product (a caprock shovel) that is super heavy duty so when I found that Amazon carried this I was quite happy.It is very, very strong (so also a bit heavier to use) and also carries a lifetime warrantee.If I could give it more than 5 stars I would

This is a pretty good shovel. I purchased it for my husband’s birthday. : ) But when he opened it, it turns out this shovel is pink. It looks red in the picture. It was pretty funny to me but not to him.

A very heavy duty spade that is worth the extra cost when compared to the cheap Chinese made spades found in most hardware stores. I recently planted 120 pine seedlings with this spade and it excelled at the job where, based on my experience with cheaply made spades, others would have failed. I also like that this is made in the USA. Excellent product. The spade I received was actually 12 gauge which is better than the 14 gauge (still robust compared to cheap spades) as described here.

Ordered the wrong length handle, wanted to exchange. Seller wanted 3/4 original cost for return shipping. Bought this because it was 100% made in USA. Never again from this seller.

We used this to actually scrape up lawn …it’s good for small landscaping projects.
