I've owned 10-15 pet fountains over the last just as many years. I have multiple in my house. I have been through and through most of the mainstream and well reviewed brands, CatIt, Drinkwell, Pioneer. While those are all fine and varying in price. I would still recommend this one due to it's ease of cleaning and the wireless power dock.My #1 concern is motor shorting out. I'm good about refilling in a timely manner, so burn out due to water level has never been problem. I have lost and replaced too many fountain motors to count, each fountain I've ever owned has gone through at least 1 or 2 extra just by unplugging and plugging back in - you can hear an electrical failure, then the motor will no longer turn back on. It all feels junky and sad to me that a product can be designed and the manufacturers of generic motors being OK with that type of flaw.This fountain remedies the motor/power issue with its wireless power system. I didn't actually know this was a feature when purchasing this, but it's been the best part about it.It's the most convenient way to power something that needs to be cleaned more often than most people do. Not having a power cable to deal with makes cleaning not such an ordeal with how I like to hide my cables away etc.Besides that, the cable not physically running through the unit simplifies the process.I wanted something made of plastic due to the hard water where I live. I'd prefer stainless fountains but the water is just too hard and makes cleaning stainless much too hard, including cat hair getting caked inside of the mineral deposits on the bowl line with no easy way to get them out.I'm hoping the metal plate will have a replacement part if I ever need to.The App/Smart features: If you have cats with health issues would be the main reason to buy this version of the fountain. The other reminders are nice but nothing you couldn't just set on your phone yourself.

* I am changing my review to 1 star. It did it again but much more water. I woke up today 12/03/24 to it saying my cat has drank 21 times and has taken in almost 12oz of water. She weighs less than five pounds. And it’s saying she’s drank 2-3oz in one sitting but multiple times. She has been with me since I woke up and has not gone to her fountain and I’ve gotten 4 notifications saying she’s drank when I know for a fact she hasn’t. At this point I truly think it’s broken. * When I first bought this I noticed that there is a delay on the time of when you will get a notification of water being drank. Which is fine but I also noticed it does not catch every time my cat drinks. Well jump today this past weekend and it disconnected itself while I was staying at my boyfriends and when I got back and got it back on, now it is sending me notifications for water being drank when it has not been drank. My cat came to cuddle with me and had been with me for over 30 minutes and it sent me a notification saying 0.14 was drank but she was with me so how is that possible? I went to check on it and in a 2 hour time frame I have gotten 8 notifications saying she’s drank but that can’t be correct. I don’t know but I’m frustrated with this fountain especially since it is a very expensive one and everything I’ve read says their customer service is crap so now I’m up the creek with no paddle and a $100 water fountain that isn’t working. * I clean it regularly and keep a close eye. I bought it at the end of September 24 and I’m writing this 12/02/24. *

Our cat's love the water fountain and it has greatly improved their water consumption. It took a couple of days from them to adjust, but once they did, it was great. We have two cats, so I ordered a second one for another floor in our home.

The overall concept of the fountain is good, it's just that the whole product should be stainless steel.My cat got chin acne because of the plastic nozzle.Not recommended.
