Great paddle for the price. I'm an old fashioned player (84 years old) and I really get some nice spin on my serves

This paddle is fantastic.About me: I'm a pretty serious player (ITTF ranked). I'm primarily a looper and blocker, but I have a pretty well-rounded game. I have a couple of pro-grade blades that I play with - a Timo Boll ALL+ with Yasaka Mark V rubber, and a Black Widow OFF+ with Bluefire M1 rubber.I got this paddle to play around with at work (Yeah, ping pong at work... Internet company... lucky me!). I also wanted to try to slow my game down a little and add some control, and see how that works for me.What I've found is that the speed of this is perfect for me. It's a little slower than the Timo Boll. I'd rate this an ALL- or DEF+. And despite the $30 price tag, it's a really well-built paddle. It's a 5-ply, has a large sweet-spot, and really consistent power throughout the blade. The rubber is sticky, and although the "gluey" feeling it has out of the package wears off, the rubber maintains a nice surface for months. The power is more than sufficient for a looping game, and will deliver a decently speedy block as well. But this paddle also allows a good amount of control and spin to allow consistent pushing with good control (can't do that with the Black Widow!)Cons....I'm not crazy about the handle. It's a little too rounded out for me, and makes it slightly more difficult to know what angle you're holding your paddle at. I prefer blockier handles. The size and flare are fine... just the cross-section is a problem for me. It's also pinkish in color... not a big deal for me, but if that may bug you, consider it.The case has some hilarious poorly-translated text on it. Also no big deal, but may get you laughed at. =)No other real cons. Cheers!

This paddle has been a terrific addition to our collection, and I mostly purchased it for weekend games with friends. It is a popular choice in our casual tournaments because everyone who has tried it has remarked on how balanced it feels. Particularly when the rallies grow more fierce, I like how the grip fits nicely and improves my control. Even when I'm switching between forehand and backhand shots quickly, the grip feels steady.Control and spin were nicely balanced by the rubber surface. I discovered that it could add a little flair after I got more experienced, but it was also forgiving enough for basic shots. The paddle was good for casual games because I usually play with friends who are also beginners. It's smooth and the ball reacts predictably without bouncing off too quickly, making rallies easier and allowing for longer, more entertaining games. One of my favorite features is the grip. It feels natural, isn't overly large or slick, and the concave handle appears to be made for extended usage without being uncomfortable. My hand didn't tighten up even after playing for a few hours, which is something I frequently experience with other paddles. This characteristic, in my opinion, makes it particularly appropriate for someone who is still honing their grip technique. However, I discovered that dust is easily drawn to the rubber surface. I had to wipe it down frequently to keep its hold after only a few sessions, which was a little inconvenient. It's worth noting if you want low-maintenance equipment, but I suppose it's a minor amount to pay to keep the paddle in great condition.

this paddle looks and feels great. I have not played with it yet, and I plan to update this once I do. but it comes with a nice case and the rubber is super sticky. over all I am very happy and looking forward to playing with it.Edit:After playing with it I am leaving my five star review, it is a little faster than I anticipated and I have been having trouble adjusting. but the spin is pretty great and the paddle feels good in my hand. I am pretty sure my trouble adjusting is player error rather than a fault in the paddle. over all I am very happy with my paddle.Edit 2: ok so I still have this paddle. I mostly play in the break room at work so it only gets 30-45 min of play time per day but its still the best paddle in the room. I would give it 10 stars if they let me, simply because it is still in great playing condition over 1 year latter.Edit 3: It has been over 2 years, and I LOVE this paddle. its held up great, probably will buy same one if its still available whenever this finally breaks apart.

This is the first paddle costing more than about $10 that I've ever bought. Many of my coworkers who I play with like Butterfly paddles, so I figured I would go for one of these. The well-made soft carrying case that comes with it is a nice bonus for me.It's a very nice paddle. Significantly heavier than a cheap lightweight one, which I find helps me control it. The rubber is very sticky and soft, which gives me an amazing amount of spin and control. In particular, I am able to return smashes and execute loopy top-spin shots far better than I have ever been able to before. However, this paddle also deadens the ball in terms of speed. I really have to smash it hard to get much speed out of the ball. For me this is a good thing, since I have a lot of trouble with control with harder paddles, but some players might not like it.Overall, I'm very happy with this paddle, but as I said I don't have a lot of experience to make good comparisons with other products. I think just about any beginner or intermediate player would be very happy with it.

Butterfly has been around for years as I grew up playing with these. Good quality paddles which are fun and easy to use for the beginner to amateur. Value priced for a fun sport.

I am a beginner player. I had very basic racquets and one day I tried my friend's butterfly and I noticed much improvement. My friend is intermediate. I can confidently say that it is excellent racket for beginners and intermediate players. It has long flared handle (non pen-hold) and feels tad heavy initially but offers superb balance between control and speed. It has good spin as well due to tacky Yuki rubber on both sides. It comes with very nice racquet cover. It comes is very nice packaging and this set is ideal for gift. I ordered two of this (one for me and one as a gift for my friend) and my grind was extremely pleased to receive this as a gift.It is rated : speed 8.0, spin 8.0, control 8.50 which I think is fair rating. I got it for $29 which was excellent value for the money. There has been some fake butterfly in market in past. I always purchase items ship and sold by Amazon or at least fulfilled by Amazon to avoid any chances of receiving lemon product. In case you receive defective item or not satisfied, Amazon has wonderful customer service - I recommend using chat option and they will resolve your concern in no time.
